Is dish planning to ever update their video on demand? I switched from Directv in January and it seems the VOD is very limited. You would think they would at least have the movie network content like showtime. In fact, I just added showtime and fully expected to see the content. Not there...

same issue here, glad to know I don't have to troubleshoot any more. The app and interface is MUCH better than directv's but the amount of on demand content is a joke. :(

I am connected and can download shows over the web and browse the grid and set shows to record just fine but the "my dvr" tab is still saying not connected. Very frustrating, also the amount of on demand is tiny compared to directv. This disappoints me after the switch. :(

Yes, this is a LCD vs CRT issue. It's less noticable from a distance or higher resolution. It's even worse if you stretch a 480 resolution to 1080 (no pillar box).

If I move under contract and would like to keep service but cannot get a view of the southern sky am I still obligated to my contract? I would not like to lose service as the local cable company is horrible. There is just no way to see the souther sky through the trees.

u-75r pointed at 250 degrees. cbs, nbc, and pbs all in at 82%, 97%, 72%. At night I got abc and fox in at 70%. That tower is 60 miles away and they don't have a very good signal. KMOS is over 80miles away and I get it at 72% all the time. Very happy for my $25 investment, no amp used yet...

STL was of no concern. Mainly CBS(12) and NBC(36). I went with el cheapo u-75r from RS. Haven't hooked up the digital receiver yet but receive clear vhf 8 and 13. and almost clear distant UHF channels like 17. I think I won't have any issues and even just one OTA hd for the cost of a $25...
