    Sports Pack

The pro sports will generally be blacked out unless you have the corresponding sports package (MLB EI, etc). The post games shows won't be blacked out like they are on the sports packages. Some sports like college football will be shown and their regular programming will be available.

DirecTV slips in Customer Sat to 4th

I wonder how we'll see this spun. It appears that DirecTV's custom satisfaction number are beginning to take a tumble and doing so at a time when the rest of this horrid industry is actually starting to improve.

anyone else invited to become a dtv insider?

I'm positive they didn't just pick people that give them positive feedback. How much of the information they use is up to them....no one is forced to participate.

    Directv First Quarter Report

It appears DirecTV is edging closer and closer to their $100 ARPU goal for 2012. The ARPU announced for Q1 really doesn't include the price increase that went into effect in March and doesn't include the MRV surcharge.

DirecTV Drops Dish Network Lawsuit Over Ad Campaign

It's sad how little these companies think of their customers.

The Tipping Point for Subscription Fees?

For very high end internet service (20GB+/20GB+) I would much rather pay $100/month than that or more for just TV. Over that net connection I can handle all of my communication needs (Phone, email, messaging, etc.), Entertainment, and data. Standalone TV services are facing the same future as...

    D12 satellite - now we're receiving signals!

I think they're just having a bit of a problem parking D12 in the proper orbit. This video of their attempts was just released. YouTube - bad parking

    Apple IPAD Owner's Thread

Don can you use the app to print a webpage...things like directions, recipes, etc? How about a PDF file or email? I'm not looking to print out War and Peace, but sometimes you need to have a hard copy. The cash cow part of the App Store doesn't bother me as the lack of innovation. The scary...

    Apple IPAD Owner's Thread

Besides not having Flash it also doesn't have the ability to print. Contrary to an earlier post...the first generation iPad does have a 3G capability. They will be available later this month. My guess is they needed to work out the procedure for the service with AT&T. The initial iPad launch...

They may not know but they would care. Also remember that your location can be determined by your IP address.

    Directv Equipment Removed

Yes, he should read the lease that would be the most helpful thing he could do for himself. Until he has done that...or paid a lawyer to do it for him there's really not much sense in doing much else. Oh, wait...I guess he could file for a declaratory judgment for a prescriptive easement...

    Directv Equipment Removed

That would be an interesting application of the law...especially if there are stated objections to roof access. In many jurisdictions it can take over 20 years for an easement by prescription to have any chance of standing up in court. I can't think of any place where that time-line is less than...

Need help bypassing parental controls @ work.

Bring in a set of rabbit ears and attach them to the TV...you'll have some more choices. Of course, trying to bypass the parental controls or attaching an antenna may also lead to you having much more free time than you want coupled with much less income. Is watching TV for 30 minutes really...

DIRECTV Statements on Citadel Disputes in Iowa & Nebraska

Scott, perhaps that's because their statement is an absurd piece of drivel. Next time DirecTV raises their prices perhaps we should all say no and expect them to continue to deliver their service until a new contract can be negotiated? Making statements like the one DirecTV made are not the...

    Directv Equipment Removed

Easements? This is a potential trespass. Perhaps you're claiming adverse possession? Good luck with that. As I said, there may have been notice as well...in the lease.

    Directv Equipment Removed

If the dishes were put up there in violation of the lease in a non-exclusive area/landlord private area (without landlord approval) the landlord had every right to have them removed. It all depends on your lease and what rights your mother had to the roof. If I have an item installed on...

How Long After a Storm Should I Expect a Signal?

mkelet, Call a private installer and have them come out and fix your dish. Might cost you $50 -$100 but you'll have TV back. DirecTV 'might' even give you credit for the call, but I wouldn't bet on it.

    HR24 First Look released.

The good news is they're using faster chipsets and hardware (hopefully better components like psu and tuners as well)...the bad news is it's still running on a patched together system software. It does appear ever since the numerous crashes and nationwide lockups of 2008 (and the announcement of...

    anniversary gift

Twelve year customer here...I got 3 months of the Sports Pack. I had called them for another reason and saw it on my online bill...when I told them I wasn't interested (nicely)...they didn't offer any sort of replacement. I've learned they have a group of different gifts they give to every...

Parents Rejoice; DIRECTV Is First To Deliver Easy-To-Understand On-Screen TV Ratings

I would treat these ratings as a tool. Would I trust them completely? No, but it is most likely going to be helpful in immediately eliminating some programming from consideration. Someone else mentioned that they have no problem blocking things with DirecTV equipment. There are...

Parents Rejoice; DIRECTV Is First To Deliver Easy-To-Understand On-Screen TV Ratings

Want to explain this comment in more depth? Are you suggesting that there shouldn't be reviews? That programming suggestions are bad? Maybe that we shouldn't have any parental controls at all? Do you have the same opinion about all types of reviews...or just those that might be of assistance to...

DIRECTV RVU demo at CES Satguys missed it?

Some of the characters there are worse, but if you can wade through the BS there's a lot more information there than on the DirecTV forums. Fortunately, all of that same information and more can be found here without having to deal with a small group of nasty sycophants.
