After a few days with the new system it seems all the weak signal/signal loss problems are with one receiver (a vip222). The other receiver, a vip722 is on about 50 feet less cable from the antenna.
I suppose it could be the receiver or cables. Is there any difference between receivers up at...
The pointing angles are considerably different for East and West. Right now I believe I am pointed at a tree top. I was getting loss of signal messages occasionally on some channels. The weather was clear and windy.
It's too bad you install systems that suck.
Thanks.
My Elevation Angle should be 31 degrees. I'll just use a carpenter bubble level and sight along the edge of a 30 degree triangle to see how close I am to the tree top.
I have a Dish Network training communication dated August 7, 2008 that clearly states the new hardware should be installed beginning on August 20, 2008 in Minneapolis DMA for HD only customers.
I guess I should look at the pointing angles (zip code 548XX). If I have the correct info they are:
EA: 34 elevation, 154 azimuth
WA: 31 elevation, 214 azimuth
Currently the line of sight appears to hit the top of a neighbors tree.
What should signal strength be?
I just had a new Dish Network install done on August 22, 2008. I ordered only HD channels (TurboHD Bronze) and HD local Channels (Minneapolis, Minnesota).
I ordered vip722 and vip222 HD receivers.
After looking at the install I can see I am on the Western Arc not the new Eastern Arc.

Voom in Chaska
Just had Voom installed yesterday. Works great on my two TV's with a receiver box for each. They installed a diplexor and ran a single cable from the 18" dish and local antenna. The receiver software updated over night. I'm happy with it so far. Picture quality is great.
