    Mount joey behind TV?

We just painted, so I have recent pictures of our bedroom setup. 32" LCD with quite a bit of tilt so we can see from bed.

    Dish remote access

In my case I cannot see recordings or watch live TV from my iPhone when I am inside my house on Wi-Fi (the same network as the Hopper). If I turn off Wi-Fi on my phone and relaunch the app, they show up. My receiver shows up as yellow in the settings area of the app if I'm on my Wi-Fi. I...

    Hopper/Joey keeps unlinking?

Yep, just checked and it looks like we are on S213. So I guess I'll wait for the update and see what happens. I'm reading that S215+ disables bridging though... That could be problematic for me since only our hopper is connected to an Ethernet line, and we use DLNA from the Joeys...

    Hopper/Joey keeps unlinking?

I just had this problem as well. We were just installed Wednesday. Came home, both Joeys were searching. Rebooted them, nothing. Rebooted Hopper, still nothing. Went into the Linked Joeys screen, went back and rebooted the Joeys, and they seem to be working now.

    1 Hopper / 2 Joeys + Cable Internet

I'm looking into getting a 1H 2J setup, for 3 HDTVs. I am a bit concerned about our cable Internet though. We currently do not have premium TV service, we only have cable Internet, wired to our master bedroom cable outlet. If we go with the Hopper system, will the installer be able to work...

Signal Loss While Recording 2 Networks at Once

@wkomorow I just wanted to let you know that I have a similar issue on my 622. I frequently have dropouts on my OTA channels because I am too lazy to get my antenna outside. Whenever the OTA signal drops on a show that is recording, whatever SAT channel I am watching also drops out until I go...

    625: Only 1 tuner passes DD5.1?

Not that it really helps you any, but I tested this on the 622 and it works fine. DD5.1 on both...

I wanted the 18 month commitment

This is only partially correct. If he talks to an "account specialist", he can get the 6 mo free HD and free movie packages without any kind of commitment. I got 10 mo of $10 rebates, 6 mo free HD without the 18 mo commitment.

Dish expects me to wait until 10:30pm for tech to arrive

The other thing to remember is that we are hearing LOTS of complaints about the installers...maybe even hundreds... but there are millions of installs we haven't heard about that went just fine. Take mine for example -- the original install earlier this year went quick, the techs (one was a...

Dish expects me to wait until 10:30pm for tech to arrive

Here's my question to the OP. What should the tech have done? Let's say his morning went like this: 1. Got to first job - scheduled as a 1 room install. Gets there, finds out that it is much more complicated than that. Maybe a 4 room as mentioned earlier. Ends up finishing around 11am 2...

Time shifting then live... what to think?

DVR definitely does change the way you watch TV... Unfortunately not everyone at work understands... They love to come up and say "Hey, did you see [insert MAJOR spoiler here] on TV last night"... I just walk away, shaking my head :)

    Burning Programs to dvd question

Yeah, I figured as much... That's the reason I waited for someone else to post the question :) There is a certain Yahoo group that does specialize in this sort of thing, but unfortunately the 622 ext hdd is still yet to be conquered... I'll respect the wishes of the management to discontinue...

    Burning Programs to dvd question

So, does anyone know of any projects working on cracking the data from the external HD? I know -- if it's encrypted, it's bound to be "illegal" to crack... but come on. I see taking a tv show from the DVR and burning it on an HD-DVD as no different from taping that show using VHS. Sure, the...

Is 480p the correct output resolution for my 42" plasma EDTV (852x480)?

I say let your eyes be the judge... It doesn't matter what *should* the be the best way... just switch it, watch for a few minutes, then switch again, until you find the one that makes you happy. If you can't tell any difference, then it doesn't matter :) On my 720p 42" LCD, I prefer the way...

    ViP622 5.1 DD Audio Problem

I'm using an Onkyo receiver and have no problems using DD 5.1 via optical. Are you sure there isn't some sort of DSP or Pro Logic setting turned on for that input on your receiver?

    Dish Selection Manifesto

Just an observation...as you mentioned earlier, the rebooting sounded like an overheating issue. Extended periods of overheating is going to lead to some sort of failure as you've seen. These DVRs are basically PCs, and need an adequate source of air.

does the $49 activition credit worth the price?

I'm afraid that is incorrect. I signed up with Dish a few months back and paid the $49.95 install fee to keep from having to sign a contract. Then when I needed to negotiate the price on upgrading to the 622 (from my 625) I had power as I could cancel my account with no termination fees...

    Audio Sound Level

I found that the channels broadcasting in standard PCM were much louder than those in Dolby. My receiver (Onkyo) allowed me to adjust the volume for each format, so now they are much closer ... No more waking up the family when you change channels from a quiet movie to a SCREAMING COMMERCIAL :)

    Super DVR?

Ha ha, no :) No way... I didn't even let the cable company guy touch my setup when they installed my roadrunner... He was wanting me to plug the modem straight into my PC. When he saw it was running Linux, he just kind of looked at me with this dumbfounded look and asked if it was a Mac :)

I need somewhere to bitch and moan

While that does suck, I guess it's better than having that tech out at your house and go ballistic ripping out wires to p.o. his boss or something :)
