Why not save yourself the trouble and just connect an eSata external drive? I've got a 2TB drive connected to my HR20-700 (and a 2TB drive connected to my HR24), and it has been humming along just fine. Moreover, it's much easier and provides me a LOT of additional storage.

No one knows. There's no rhyme or reaaon to the many problems this CE has caused. Of all my units, it is now only the HR20-700s that are locking up.

Yeah, I'd consider yourself lucky. My father and several buddies have all experienced this problem. It has happened to my HR700-100, HR21-100, & HR22-100s. I've got more than one model of each of these on my account, & every one of them froze as soon as I hit the "list" button.
