I can really relate to this guys problems. I don't live in an apartment, but had one hell of a time trying to get my dish aligned properly. I called a pro installer and it was done and I was happy in about an hour and a half. Trust me, call somebody to do it.

Actually, I didn't realize that larger dishes for DirectTV were even available. Are they that much better and is it just rain fade that they help aleviate?

I have 25ft from the dish to the ground block, then at the moment, probably another 50ft to the reciever. The more I read posts on here, the more I think I need to route the cable more directly to my reciever.
