I found a Scientific Atlanta 8300 DVR on e bay and was thinking about buying it but have some questions. Will it work w/out getting the digital navigation thing for 4.95 a month from cablevision? Also, would there be any other services i'd have to order in order for the DVR to work? Thanks!

It did go digital, but like I said, my tuner picked it up on 77-68 . No box, no cablecard.

Ive been getting SOAPnet for awhile now on 77-68 (i dont use a box, use the built in tuner on my TV). Last week SOAPnet was gone and its now GAC (Great American Country). Anyone know where they mapped it to or if it's even available anymore w/out a box?

Read somewhere that FX is available in HD. Does cablevision show FX in HD or was it anotehr company??
