    Ethernet port active on 622!!!

So just curious, but does anyone know how much data the 622 will be pulling down from the ethernet? Is this just something light used for verifying info faster than a phone line, or will it be using this to try and pull down video, etc as well? (wouldn't think so as you have the perfectly good...

    Zap2It Application

Any word yet on when this is coming back? Probably was the only dish interactive tool I ever used, and they take it away.

    ViP622 L4.04 Coming!

Still don't understand the screaming reboot problem. I have two 622's that haven't skipped a beat since L4.03. Most people are not having this problem. So to call the hardware or software garbage is not a completely true statement. My guess is that the OTA problem is caused not so much by the...

    Is Big Brother watching YOU?!

You may also want to put a drop of glue on the microphone on the circuit board with a syringe so that they will be limited on what they hear as well, ha ha. I'm kidding No need to do that... cell phones are already being used in this manner and are probably more widely spread. Police can...

    Time change related bug? 622

I turned my reciever off as I went out for sunday brunch this morning. When I got back, the missing timers were now properly scheduled during the week. My guess it was just a matter of the guide being thrown off by the time change, and it taking a bit of processing to auto correct the problem...

    Time change related bug? 622

My 622 receiver appears to have changed time correctly, but I've noticed many of my regular timers are no longer scheduled to fire. They appear in the timer list, but if you select them, you don't see any events listed under them and they no longer have a timer icon when viewed in the guide. I...

    L4.01 For ViP622 Is Coming!

DannyR is REALLY doing himself an injustice by having a 4:3 TV for watching HD. His TV has got to be crazy old for an HD compatible. So with that said, I would buy a new HD TV ASAP. Your overall picture quality will probably be so much better too. Its a 5 year old Sony... not quite ancient...

    L4.01 For ViP622 Is Coming!

Actually I need more than just native passthrough, as my TV doesn't support 720p (or the newer 1080p, although I don't believe anything is broadcast at that resolution yet) Ideally I need the ability to specify what output is presented for each type of signal, so that I can specify 1080i, 720p...

    L4.01 For ViP622 Is Coming!

What are you talking about here? Why are you having to change between the two? You shouldn't have to do this. I have a 4:3 size HD capable tv. 1080i is fine for watching HD content, but leaving it in that mode means I don't get full use of my screen for all the other channels, thus I have to...

    L4.01 For ViP622 Is Coming!

From what I am hearing from Beta testers the new software works really well and is really solid. There is only one feature I hope is present in this upgrade, and thats the ability for the receiver to automatically change output resolutions based on content. I'm sick and tired of constantly...

There a way to only record a show, watch it, delete, and not record it again? (622)

Weak. Seems very easy to have this option. Sure, you could probably easily implement it. Just have a recording option that records "ALL (except previously recorded)". Problem is you would need to have a lifetime record in your machine of every single program you ever recorded being stored...

622 question: Able to quickly toggle resolutions?

But again, native passthrough won't work for everyone because not every TV accepts every resolution. Mine won't accept 720p at all... you HAVE to have a resolution by resolution system asking what prefered output you want.

622 question: Able to quickly toggle resolutions?

I mentioned it in another thread, but I'll mention it again here (maybe someone at Dish will actually read this suggestion). The best way in my mind of dealing with this is to replace the current HDTV control with a more robust one allowing just a few more options. Currently the receiver...

622 UHF remote, control TV1 functions?

Not certain what I'm doing wrong, but I can't get my #2 remote (blue tab) to control the 622 in single mode. I can program the remote channel, changing it back and forth, and see it actually change on the system info tv screen, but other than that there appears to be abolutely no recognition...

622 with sony 4:3 ratio not working well

Native passthrough alone won't solve the problem, because not every TV supports 720p for instance (mine doesn't). What I proposed a long time ago is a simple control to replace the current one... simply have a setting for each of the four major resolutions and map it to a prefered output you...

622 question: Able to quickly toggle resolutions?

Just got my new 622 setup. One thing I'd hoped they would have fixed by now is the ability to quickly switch resolutions between HD and SD. Perhaps I'm just overlooking this, but thus far I don't see such an option. I have an older Sony 4:3 TV, that does a vertical squeeze when it sees a...

    HD on 61.5

So if I'm able to get all my locals via rooftop antenae, is there any reason other than to also get them via DISH to reaim my 61.5 dish to 129?

    HD on 61.5

Is there a webpage that lists what channels are on which satellite? I'm in the same boat. Just got a 622, have a Dish 500 pointing to 110 and 119, and a Dish 300 pointed at 61.5. I was considering reaiming the 61.5 to 129 to get HD content, but if its all on 61.5 then I won't bother. I...

    622 and rg6 runs..how many?

It depends on your LNBs. Are they Dishpro units or legacy? Dishpro LNB's can feed Dishpro compatable recievers with 1 coax feed and still make use of both tuners. If you want to make use of the 2 TV set output ability of the 622, you will need another run of coax from the 611 to the second set.
