    "Super" (LOL) Dish question??

I would just hook up the 110 to a reciever, run a check switch, find 110 and peak that signal pretty good. Then hook up everything to the switch like it should be, run a check switch, and see what you have.

Don't like Dish's Answers to Locals in HD - Here's an answer

For me, if FOX, ABC, and NBC would actually broadcast at full power and in HD I'll be happy because will a big enough antenna I can probably get 2 of those three. Not sure if that will ever happen. In the mean time OTA CBS HD is great.

Will ABC-HD be available for Superbowl?

The superbowl will be digitally broadcast in amazing SD quality at a power level of 3kw about 25 miles away (for me anyway). My 811 will pick it up (signal level around 70). The really sad part is that it looks worse on the LiL channel I get from dish :(

How does E* determine your "need" for a Dish 1000?

What about current superdish customers. I Dish 1000 won't get me my locals from 105. I already have a SD105 and a D500 pointing at 61.5 that works great. Will they just ship me a 211 to replace my 811?

Most likely upgrade path for existing customers - discussion

My opinion... It's in E*'s best interest to have all HD channels at mpeg-4. If they switched all of them to mpeg-4, current mpeg-2 HD receivers wouldn't get the HD channels. If that happened they would have to replace HD receivers for free or face legal action for requiring a new receiver...

    Auto switch 1080i to 720P

Not true. DVI will only output what you select in the menu's. The reason is that some TV's will only do 1080i (like mine) and I watch ESPNHD via DVI (most of the bowl games). In your case, with the setting at 720p, a 720p broadcast will be output at 720p....and so will all the 1080i channels.

Freezing on HDNet Movies? Anyone else?

The break-ups are really annoying. I've been home during the day lately burning some vacation time before I lose it....some decent movies on HDNET movies too bad it freezes. Very frustrating. Kids watching The Goonies "Dad, stop doing that" every few minutes.

Dish messing with Voom, All are now HD-Lite 1280x1080i: Discuss this issue HERE!

Here is what I got back from dish today: Thank you for expressing your concerns and interest in DISH Network. Customer input is an important tool in our efforts to continuously improve the quality of the DISH Network service. We have confirmed the VOOM issue. We have had several...

Help! Service turned off because of lack of phone connection!

When I signed up about a year ago (I think) for the second time (I was a long time previous customer)...I asked if I needed a phone line. I was told NO. Just for pay per view. I said good, because I don't have a landline.

Will DISH exchange 811 for 411?

I would guess it will have the HDMI to DVI adapter included. If not you can get one fairly cheap. HDMI is kinda like DVI + Audio on one cable.

    It is on 1080i.

    Title Pixelation w/ 811 HD

Yeah, I've seen this. Reboot it (hold down the power button on the reciever until the light goes out) and it's usually fixed on mine.

    Dish MPEG-4 411 Outputs

I won't like it if it doesn't have a UHF remote. I have everything hidden away under the stairs, plus I rf-modulate the output to a bedroom TV. I'm not suprised though, it probably costs a couple bucks extra to build and the majority of users won't need UHF.

    Dish has a major problem

A nightly (or weekly or just random) connect from the reciever to E* would probably help. If the numbers on the receiver don't match a legit number at E* the receiver is disabled. However, they must allow the use of broadband via ethernet or wireless to contact E*. I know many people around...

Bought a leased receiver. What to do?

Do whatever you can to go after the seller. He sold you leased property. Even if it hasn't been activated, the receiver was leased to someone else. A person can't sell something that is leased to them. You have a receiver that is still leased to someone else, the fact that you paid money for...

When Will Dish Give Us Network Hdtv??

Wow, 95 percent, where does that number come from (source please). I can get CBS OTA, the rest aren't broadcasting HD yet...and won't for another year. Last I checked we are in the 101st DMA. When the are up and running, I will get 2-3 OTA HD channels at the very most. Waste of bandwidth...

DVD thru 811 Input.. Sound but no pix

I agree, you will be using the poorest quality video (480i) going to the 811...and the 811 doesn't do a very good job upconverting to HD quality with SD (480i content). In fact people have reported that the s-video output looks better than component/DVI on the 811, when viewing SD content (I'm...

Instructions for Adding the 61.5 - revised 05/04

I used a dish 500 dp twin lnb, a dp21, superdish 105, dp34 method. However, I had to cover the 119 LNB for it to work. Check switch worked the first time and I'm Vooming :) Why did I use a dishpro 500 twin...it was free from a neighbor. DP21 was a few bucks on ebay. Much better than 199...

    Do You Think I Should???

HD customers are going to be upgraded first. Hard to say when the SD customers will be upgraded...could be years from now. My guess is that if you have an SD DVR you won't be getting a free HD DVR

    SuperDish and MPEG4 Conversion

MPEG 4 maybe later this year....new receivers. Superdish has been available for a while, in my case it's for regular locals. CBS HD East and West if you qualify, the rest OTA. New HD, well it was 'no HD until MPEG 4' but look how that worked out. E*'s plans and what actually happens are...

    Dish Network to Pay $50,000

Only use a cell phone here. I also don't 'jump' to answer the phone. That's why I have voicemail, I'll just call them back. Also have different ring-tones for different callers. Oh, and no telemarketing calls on my cell phone anyway.

    Signal strength

I'd try to find a better location for the dish 500 if the skew is OK. Your dish 500 is probably dishpro, which isn't compatible with the old equipment (legacy lnb's/sw21).

voom ota antenna compatible w/dish receivers

IMO 'incompatible' really isn't a way to describe it. What you are finding out is that the 811 OTA tuner isn't as good as the VOOM OTA tuner. Running a preamp on the antenna may help, and it may make it worse. If you are having multipath issues a preamp can make it worse. A bigger/better and...
