at 25K subs there is simply no money for inhd to move to Voom.

Here in Los Angeles, CompUSA is the owner of Good Guys-who does sell plenty of HD sets, so it would make sense that if Voom had a deal with CompUSA- they could have stuck a foot in the door at The Good Guys. The bottom line is: Voom must have a national retail POS to aquire more subs.

PB- I think this may solve a lot of headaches for Voom- if it were true. But you may find that most in this forum would rather see other uses for the bandwidth. And there is that little wavier issue.

Madtown, Certainly, if all you can see of the Olympics is the HD feed- that's not cool. Many of us here have kept some sort of backup, cable or another SAT company so that we don't miss stuff. The OTA is (IMO) what causes Voom the most grief. But it's not like Voom has three birds to start...

Thank you Sean. Man, it's hard to defend Voom from the clueless! I do think any one who make like/dislike anything with Voom has to be fair first. That and i think anytime someone posts "F-U" they need a time out.

If Voom's "greatest advocate" has only 14 posts here, that may be part of the problem. This is not Vooms fault.

But Vin, let's say they actually put up 3- 500 channel birds, there can't be that many locals for the whole US. Whatever it is, DTV HAS to have a HD strategy. It's much later than Voom but it will come. Most SD will at some point be HD, so this may be DTV's solution.

I agree that many may be holding out. I re-subbed back to DTV for that channel. If Voom can only get to 100k subs by next June they will be on the block. Hey- that would be cool...if we tuned into the Auction Channel, and there's Voom!

DTV is putting up birds (2-3) that will hold 500 HD channels.

Why would Microsoft get into the SAT business? They could never dominate (DTV) which is always what they plan.

I agree and Cuban or other potential buyers may not like the Voom business plan. Of course, some buyers- buy companies in order to put them out of business.

If Voom can add it's own channels like Equator why can't they add more when they have the space? Most of us might not want to see alot of SD added- just great HD. I agree there aren't many wonderful HD channels floating around to add. Maybe three? So can Voom come up with something better on...
