Are You Vooming Again On Dish Yet?

I'll stick with cable, "two" dual tuner hd recorders for $7 a month and no massive up front fee's or two year commit. Really, E* has nerve to ask a two year commit, $250 up front for a recorder, and $90+ monthly service for their all package. Feels like buying a used car from sleazey sales...

If you have two HDtv's, you're screwed with E*

So how do you get a 942 AND 811? E* cs wont do it...

What do I do with my VOOM receiver?

    (sorry, couldnt resist)

So, tell me about the 942 DVR

RG6. RF to run a HD tv. Wow, let me get my tie-dyes and bell bottoms back out for this one.

If you have two HDtv's, you're screwed with E*

That might be workable, but when on the phone to E* cs, she said, and I quote, "Thats not a possible option". Either two 811 "non-dvr" units, or... one 942. THAT was my choice! Some get a deal, some (me) dont. Enough is enough E*

    VOOM was a great deal!!!

And voom knew the true definition of the word FREE. Dish thinks free means $350 (dish + dvr). I knew people hated E* for a reason.

So, tell me about the 942 DVR

Sooo, to use two tv's, one 942, you have to run lots of a/v cable to the other tv location? Who does that, the installer?

If you have two HDtv's, you're screwed with E*

Dish doesnt seem to believe people can actually have two HDtv sets. Their "offer" is the 942, hooked to two tv's. This gives HD on one tv, sd on the other. THATS their solution? If you want to record hd, and you have two hdtv's, dish says forget that! Options: two hd receivers. or one 942...

DISH Network Website: VOOM COMES TO DISH NETWORK!

But.... To step on my own words (above), I tried ordering online (a test actually) to see whats what. I selected the two room "watch HD and record HD". I selected to add voom channels. I selected two year comit. It listed only one $250 charge, even though I'm ordering two 942 (two room)...

So, tell me about the 942 DVR

I know it records HD, has two tuners for satellite, gets ota HD. But, does it allow mulit-room viewing? Record ota hd?

DISH Network Website: VOOM COMES TO DISH NETWORK!

I agree with those too leery to jump into the dish pool. Some get a "deal", others don’t. Some are told one thing, others another. Too many unknowns, too many hoops to jump thru. And too many dishes on the roof. Nasa may take notice, or the CIA? And $250+ for "using" their dvr is over the line...

It's Official - VOOM ON DISH NETWORK!

Well, maybe this (really) is what voomers have been yelling for. Keeping their HD theme channels AND getting the HD DVR. Would you have paid $250 if voom was still alive and rolled out their HD DVR, for $250? I have cable + their HD DVR now, few hd channels available, however. It would be...

It's Official - VOOM ON DISH NETWORK!

Tell me about that 942 dvr? Its a hd dvr? Dual tunners? ota hd antenna input? ota hd recording? My only problem is that everyone I ever knew that had dish hated it. Slow menus, slow program info. Dish is kinda like the k-mart of sat tv. D* is target and voom was sears.

DirecTV Offers Rebate to Voom Customers

If true, check the details. Probably a lifetime commitment policy to D*. Most local cable companies have a hd dvr they offer, more hd channels than D*, and NO upfront cost. D* is the last place I'd turn to in replacing voom.

    New Letter From Voom

Maybe they want you to keep the equipment, incase something starts up again in the near future. If someone did buy and start up a new service, the receivers would already be out there waiting to go. As far as logo letters, voom is dead as is, and the logo is meaningless now.

I've just received this email from Voom...

So, they actually pulled the feeding tube?

voom.com IS GONE ie Tues 12:00 am. Is it actually gone? Or down being worked on?

    voom.com...Alive!!

Maybe then room for hdnet and hdnet movies? I knew voom would survive. You cant kill something so advanced. Who'd want to trash their car and go buy a horse and buggy? But people probably thought Mr Ford would never succeed with the new fangled motor & wheels thing. Every HD tv thats sold is a...

Another new SEC filing (CVC 8-k): Closing of Rainbow DBS business has been delayed!

This is legal mish mash. Sounds like there positioning to recover or save as much as they can for stock holders when the lights go out.

www.voom.com still says there closin. Why would they have multi sites with diff messages? I'm taking www.voom.com as word.

Breaking News: Flash From Voom Website: VOOM ceasing Operation by end of March

I too believe something’s still up and ongoing. Hard to think such a new ground breaking operation can fail. People rather stay with analog 4x3 tv than HD? Well, in 2006-2008 they wont have a choice any longer. Forces behind the scene, that we're not privileged to know of, are still hard at work.

    voom has a new promotion

I feel voom will pull ahead of "ALL" the others, once their DVR comes thru. Maybe even without the recorder. My cable has a hd dvr but cable is still more than satellite (for the works) and still so few hd channels offered. I was just looking over at D* and their hd offer (new customers) is...

    voom has a new promotion

WHeres The DVR? That promo sounds great, but its still missing the words (including our HD pvr). Till then I must stick with cable. They rent me a HD dvr for $5 a month. Not wonderful, but better than none at all. The magic words for voom...HD DVR!

Voom Alive! --- 21 days & counting (post sale of Rainbow 1)

Oh gees... Satellite tv services are like gold. Its the way things are going and will be. And voom is far above and beyond the rest, including D* and E* "in value". The only problem is... not too many have HD sets, yet. But, the FCC says HD is the future, and are making laws to ensure just that...

Voom Alive! --- 21 days & counting (post sale of Rainbow 1)

If you sold your car to a neighbor, why would you still buy gas for it? When a company is sold all bets are off and everything stops, that is, if the company is going to be killed off. You wouldnt see any voom ad's, or anything. Even if they already purchased, no ad's would air and someone...
