CBS' Survivor Returns Feb. 2 With New Twists

I like the sound of the new twists. And the sooner the better! I always though the three-tribe format worked well in all-stars and am glad they're bringing back the more-than-2 tribe format, if only for one episode. And the exile island thing intrigues me, although I don't expect it to affect...

    Probst Sticks with Survivor

Good to have this confirmed. Of course the whole thing was all rumor about him leaving, and Jeff himself said he had no intentions of leaving. There are more details in other articles. He's signed for four more seasons (two more years) to bring the total he's hosted up to 16...

    CBS Orders 'Survivor' for 2006-07

True. If I remember it right, he basically said his contract runs out after Survivor 12 and he hasn't been offered a new contract yet. Presumably that was because the show hadn't officially been picked up for more seasons...now that it has I would expect him to sign a new deal. As for...

    CBS Orders 'Survivor' for 2006-07

Jeff e-mailed in to the Stern show soon after this rumor came out and said there was no truth to it. His contract is up after Survivor 12 (which he is off filming right now in parts unknown) but he said he has no plans of refusing to come back or anything like that.

BitTorrent? ... Seems more like BitTorture

Charter didn't do it, the MPAA or RIAA got your IP and sent it to Charter, and they shut down or suspended your account. They do that on occasion, but by "go after" I really only meant legal action, not warnings. As for the original intentions of the program author, I can't read his mind, but...

BitTorrent? ... Seems more like BitTorture

As that article mentioned, the MPAA has been focusing on BitTorrent sites for the past year or so. Many major sites have been shut down in that time, leading to a huge fragmentation of the "market" (for lack of a better word). It definitely isn't a safe or anonymous way to break the law, but in...

BitTorrent? ... Seems more like BitTorture

Azureus is somewhat bloated compared to other clients, but it offers a lot of functionality that you may or may not need. You can limit your upload and download speeds, select to only download certain files from a torrent, and more. If you don't need any of those more advanced functions...

BitTorrent? ... Seems more like BitTorture

BitTorrent is great overall, but it's not really intended as a replacement for P2P apps or download libraries. It's great for distributing largish files to a lot of people quickly (the latest Linux builds is a good example), but it doesn't work well for keeping an archive of content. If...
