Yeah, KSWO HD in Lawton, OK is finally available to Wichita Falls, TX/Lawton, OK market viewers. But it is lit up on E*12 at 61.5°. I also noticed the channel was "added" to Ciel-2 today. Maybe it will get flagged available pretty soon for those who have to get their HD locals from 129°.

Is there any chance of a 2nd uplink today? I was kind of hoping something would happen with our local ABC-HD affiliate in Lawton, OK. Currently, it's uplinked at E*12 on channel 5150 but not changed to "available" yet.

Nice to see KSWO-TV (ABC) in Lawton has been added in HD. Unfortunately, the HD channel doesn't appear to be available yet. Just did a remote check on my DVR and it isn't showing up in the guide. Hopefully KSWO-HD will be added/made available on the Ciel-2 satellite just like the other 3...

It's nice E* has finally made the HD channels for the Sherman, TX - Ada, OK market available. On the downside, the HD channel for KSWO (ABC) in Lawton, OK is still nowhere to be found. The NBC, FOX and CBS affiliates in Wichita Falls are duplicated in HD on both the E*12 and Ciel 2 satellites...

Weren't these local HD channels already "added" to Ciel-2? They went through some sort of channel move on Ciel-2 last week: Strange thing is the additions of Wichita Falls, TX HD locals now have the channel numbers mapped to the previous 5151-5153 range (used on E*12 at 61.5°). Even more...

These HD local channels were added to Ciel-2 only a week or two ago. Now they have to change transponder numbers? I just hope they're made available sometime soon, particularly KSWO (ABC). The HD channel isn't carried on E*12 at 61.5° unlike the 3 Wichita Falls stations. It's actually 3...

Today's uplink report is interesting for E* customers in the Wichita Falls, TX - Lawton, OK viewing market. The market's ABC affiliate, KSWO channel 7 in Lawton was uplinked to Ciel II. Now all four channels for this viewing market uplinked on that satellite. When/if those channels are made...

Comedy Central seems to be looking better. Granted, I'm only going by the appearance of Scrubs in SD. Still, I'm not seeing the strange, black pixel blocks and other strange macro-blocking and shifting fuzziness that seemed so prevalent yesterday.

I'll have to check the differences on Comedy Central HD picture quality between 129° and 61.5° later this evening when I get back home. I have two dishes on my rooftop, a 1000.2 unit for my primary service and an additional Dish 500 pointed at 61.5° for HD local channels. I assume "channel 107"...

I'll also echo the observations about Comedy Central HD. Lots of strange, blocky artifacts. Little black rectangles. Certain areas of the image macro-blocking out. I watched the premiere of Krod Mandoon earlier. The imagery was pocked with those artifacts and the video quality was very soft...

I happened to notice the Viacom additions when channel surfing through the guide. I saw "Spike" and then noticed the "HD" thing next to it. Wasn't expecting that. I'm a HD Absolute customer. Not everything from Viacom showed up in my subscription. But 3 more HD channels out of 6 isn't bad. I...

    4/8/2009 1:10pm - Uplink Activity Report - 93 changes - STILL NOT VIACOM

The funny thing is E* already has a fiber line drawn from the tower for KSWO. It sounds to me like the hold up with channel 7 (ABC) is entirely on the end of E*. Consider this: KJTL, channel 18 Wichita Falls (FOX) and KSWO, channel 7 (ABC) Lawton both send their primary over the air signals...

    4/8/2009 1:10pm - Uplink Activity Report - 93 changes - STILL NOT VIACOM

This only means these two local HD channels have been uplinked to Ciel-2, correct? Those two channels in Wichita Falls (as well as the CBS station there, KAUZ) are already available in HD on E*12 at 61.5°. I think it will be pretty odd if E* lights up the Wichita Falls local HD stations in this...

    4/7/2009 2:08pm - Uplink Activity Report - 6 changes - NOT VIACOM

Which TV station did it? I thought KSWO channel 7 in our viewing market was the only one with ".2" and ".3" sub-channels in addition to its main ".1" channel. Incidentally, that local station still doesn't have its primary HD channel carried by E* even though the 3 network stations in Wichita...

I can't tell for certain if KSWO-TV in Lawton, OK is still up linked on 61.5° and set for channel 5150. It's the only major network channel in the Wichita Falls-Lawton DMA not on 61.5° in HD. The NBC, FOX and CBS affiliates in Wichita Falls are on channels 5151, 5152 and 5153 in that spot beam...

I was kind of hoping KSWO-TV channel 7 in Lawton, OK would finally get its HD channel lit up on E*12. The three network affiliates in Wichita Falls are available in HD. At least I can get KSWO in HD over the air via outside antenna.

I see they moved the SD Locals of the Wichita Falls, TX - Lawton, OK viewing market from Echostar 5 to Ciel-II. I'll have to check and see if it makes any difference on the video quality (which was fairly mediocre previously). They're still just MPEG-2. The HD locals for the same viewing market...

I noticed they turned two more local HD channels in Wichita Falls, TX: KFDX channel 3 (NBC) and KJTL channel 18 (FOX). KAUZ channel 6 (CBS) has been available in HD for almost a couple of months now. Strangely, the one remaining major network channel in this viewing market, KSWO channel 7 (ABC)...

That's it entirely. More viewers = more ad revenue. In any given local TV broadcast market you'll have a pretty significant number of people who can't receive a particular local TV channel very well at all over the air, or they just can't receive the signal at all period. Viewers often have to...

    Uplink Activity Report - 12/3/2008 12:42pm - 202 changes

Look at the issue in marketing terms rather than the mere nuts and bolts technological angle. Any network still broadcasting only in SD at this point isn't going to look very good from the stand point of professionalism. They're either cheap or just don't have their act together. The Weather...

We're 76 days away from the turn off date for analog OTA broadcasts -just under 11 weeks. With that milestone approaching it would seem like more national cable networks yet to launch HD channels would have done so already. It will be especially strange if major cable networks like Comedy...
