Can you get to where the sat dish is mounted? I'd double check his connections. Did he use a diplexer at the sat dish? If he did, try disconnecting it (to see if it's bad) and have a straight feed from the dish to the reciever.

Your installer did call in to get the reciever activated. Correct!

Actually I meant the OTA antenna. Not relocate...just some fine tuning of the direction it's pointed.

:D Actually, I'm thinking your OTA antenna is picking up a reflected signal when the garage door is open vs closed. I would say some re-pointing is in order and if you can do it yourself...do it.

Thats simply a reception issue. ie. antenna not pointed correctly, signal weak, transmitter to far, installer didn't know what he was doing etc. Whats your signal strength indicate?

LMAO...too funny. Actually with the optional amp which I have I get my stations that are about 30 miles away perfectly. The SqS has gotten exemplary reviews, but again it was primarily designed for urban environments.

I would imagine it will work just like all the other STB's in that the scan feature will detect all those channels which the antenna can find a signal with. If the antenna is not pointed correctly or insufficiently weak and can't tune to the channel, the channel won't show up in the PG.

I almost fell out of the chair when I got home and saw that V* finally mapped my ABC. Why they didn't map FOX is still the question of the day, but at least they moved a step forward in the right direction.

Am I being unreasonable expecting that after nearly three weeks that I still have not had one single OTA channel added from those that I reported missing and am getting a little irratated about it?

You guys def have pointing/obstruction/poor install issues. If you have and can confirm clear line of site you should have signal strength around 95 at least (50 w/ old firmware) Bill

That doesn't make sense. If they show up in your PG and you can view them, then they are mapped. Maybe your local channel isn't providing info. Two of mine show 'no info' or 'off air' for part of the day when in fact they are broadcasting. Same thing showed on my D* STB. Bill

Nice to hear everything went well and you like the service. Don't worry about the complaining, it's a double edged sword at times. No one likes to hear it after awhile, but on the same token the complainers actually light the fire to get things done...that of course depends if it's funneled...
