I have a 6ft. I'm not using anymore since I swapped to a 8ft. I'm in STL. I agree a 6ft. for C band is minimal, you will still miss out on some weak signals but not a lot if it is properly tuned. The mini bud is fun to experiment with but not everyday use. My 6ft. did me very well for 8 years...

Try another USB Cable maybe another computer to rule out both.

97w KU has Press TV and RT America. 131w C-band still has C-Span on analog 24 hrs. I think I missed one in the 65w range but can't find it ATM. Most others are just feeds here and there.

I say put up a KU dish get a receiver and dabble in it a little. Getting KU set up is VERY inexpensive even motorized. If you enjoy it EXPAND. I can tell you I don't find myself on KU band very often, I'd say 85% of the time I'm on C-Band.

Depending on your location if all you can put up is a 6 footer I say go for it. I have a 6 footer and really I'm quite shocked at it's performance!
