I watched Equator's Smart Travels "Florence" between 9-10CDT and it was as good as before the encoders. Best picture in some while. Just a few days left to sign off.....first Enterprise and now this.....what a disappointment.

I always felt that D*'s SD channels is better than VoOms. I watch SCIFI a bunch and (i have said this before) on VoOm it was really soft and blocky. D* is sharper and brighter. I use a SIR-TS360 on D*so maybe that is the difference?

I noticed last night that the listing for EncoreHD ends at 5:30am CT Friday morning. After that is shows "Sign Off". I know this is planned and talked about before, but I am sad to see it go. Hopefully it will be back after demand picks up.

Gutter, I heartily agree. That is part of the problem here. If we heard SOMETHING from Voom officially (and not from the CSRs), I think this would be easier to accept and be patient with.

While watching Equator last night,during the 9pm to 10pm CT time slot (Smart Travels) I noticed that the audio was slightly off sync with lip movement. It was slightly behind the movement and noticeable. PQ was great.

My interpetation is when the image freezes for a split-second and then continues. In the case I saw earlier this week, we were watching a "League of Their Own" on TMCHD. Towards the end of the movie, the picture would freeze or skip for just a fraction of a second, then continue. Audio...

I agree about the PQ ...... when my VoOm was installed in January, it was breathtaking. Now it is just average. Last night the pixelation, micro-stutter, etc was very irritating. Now it has been over a week since the encoder changes...and frankly that is too long. I work in a technology...

"Clearly" there is a difference in PQ. Example on Monsters HD, the flying saucer movie intro bit was tack sharp until a few days ago. Lots of noise in the graphics now. Checked on both of my monitors .... looks worse on my DLP than on the RPTV.

I voted before I saw the option for "other" I have VoOm, DirectTv, OTA AND cable.
