I don't have a Tivo or DVD recorder but I've already saved the Peter Gabriel concert to S-VHS. I wanted to catch the 1997 Montreux Jazz Festival just for ELP but haven't seen it listed lately.

And the words are blurrier and pixellate when you move it. :D

I'm about 14' from a 50" and have no problems reading it. The colors are a bit hard on the eyes though, especially the yellow in a dim room.

The PQ has improved since the new encoders went in but still not as good as with the old ones. Please keep tweaking it Voom! What I find most annoying now is the audio dropouts on Rave. Its a music channel, at least get the audio right! I watched about half of the Peter Gabriel concert and...

I also noticed the audio dropouts on Rave and I can't honestly say that any of the channels look better than or even as good as before the new encoders. Thats OK for now as long as they're still tweaking them.

Add me to the "quality is more important than quantity" list. I'm sure that the channel additions are affecting picture quality right now. The whole point of the new encoders is to reduce bandwidth. Hopefully they can squeeze enough for the new channels without degrading the existing...

I assume your title is referring to the 1500 HD channels that D* is supposed to have. You should be laughing your ass off. :D Hmmm, 10 years behind with the most HD channels available. :confused:
