    1) "progessive Dvd" -- there is no such thing. There are only progressive DVD "players". All DVDs are interlaced. But I agree, I hardly rent DVDs. With an HD DVR, though, you could watch LotR at your pace (like answering my wife's questions), often analyzing Ms. Tyler's facial structures...

    Will Voom Survive?

    I think with the "advancements" in the MPEG-2 encoders, they can maybe squeeze one, maybe two HD channels. I can't see the MPEG-2 encoder efficiency getting better than 10% (even that seems generous). Hong.
