Voomer moved to Comcast – initial thoughts

Switched to Cablevision IO Digital Optimum I switched about 10 days' ago and I am fairly impressed. I have everything, i.e. Rainbow Gold and three VOD premium channels: HBO, Showtime and Max. HD is quite satisfactory and includes the five broadcast networks, INHD, Thirteen HD, MSG Network HD...

    Don't bother calling VOOM

Positive Note I have had a long and painful experience in dealing with Voom CSRs in trying to get an antenna upgrade - spent hours on the phone - multiple CSRs - an installer unilaterally cancelling the upgrade without coming etc. I finally gave up in utter frustration plus the fact that I...

    One week & no news

I just wish it was over one way or the other. I am enjoying Voom very much but only in one room and I am using Directv in two others and to record programs. It's costing me too much. I have also held off on getting an upgraded OAB antenna. Ironically, if Voom goes dark I am seriously...

Where will you go, if and when Voom ends?

For me the answer is easy. I have the D* dish installed and I own the D* Hughes HDTV receiver, acquired before I signed on with Voom. Another benefit to D* in my area is that it broadcasts alll four networks: CBS, NBC, Fox and ABC, so that OAB becomes less of an issue. Martin21

    Antennaweb.org

The saga continues. I have now literally spent hours talking to Voom CSRs, two of them in the "escalation" unit. It turns out that the antenna upgrade which had been scheduled was cancelled by the installer with the notation "no line of sight". I had called and e-mailed this installer to set...

    Antennaweb.org

I had an interesting call with a Voom CSR about an antenna upgrade. She cited Antennaweb.org for authority that in my zip code, 06897, there were only two DT off-air stations currently operating. Sure enough if I look on this site she is correct. However, the site is blatantly wrong! A much...

    Terrible SD picture quality

SD Quality My D* SD picture quality is significantly better than Voom SD. It's not even close. I am viewing both on Sony 42 inch LCD projection using S video connections. Martin21

Why stay with voom? Get HD DirecTV Tivo!

Voom vs. D* Sorry, I am not that techical - what do you mean, peak my dish or check coax? I've tried all of the tricks I could think of including changing the display, using S-Video connection or using component connection. Sean, if you are monitoring - any ideas? Martin21 :shocked
