    VOOM Installations

Interesting. My installer told me he gets $120 for a Voom install and $60 for E* or D* installs. He really likes installing Voom (twice the pay for the same amount of work he said). The only problem is here in the Pacific NW, he gets line-of-sight for Voom on only 20% of the jobs he goes out on...

    VOOM Installations

I previously posted about my bad install experience, but finally got installed this Monday by a competent, prepared installer. I must say Voom was VERY concerned about the way my first two installation attempts went. They had a customer service manager from corporate contact me, and this was...

Just thought I would chime in on my experience: Bought the Pelican because I was in a hurry to get playstation hooked into system for the kids, immediately I could hear it introduced a wicked hum into my system. Likely a ground loop since Pelican box uses 12 VDC transformer and system voltage...

    VOOM Installations

Welcome to the club! I had an install last Saturday between 8am-12. At 1 pm, after I called his cell 3 times (got number from Installs Inc.) he finally shows up. Has my gear, but his compass/inclination meter is broken. Eyeballs it and says it probably won't work. Probably? (I says). Yeah, but...

    VOOM Installations

Huh? I thought the outside diplexer at the dish combines the signals onto one cable and the one on the box subsequently separates the two (sat and OTA) signals. How could they use just one? Maybe they put in another at the inlet?
