Is it better to run two down leads from an antenna or one down lead and use a splitter?

I would like to split my OTA signal. I have a 5-1000 mhz 2 way splitter and a 5-2150 mhz 2 way splitter. Which do I use for this application? and when would I use the other?

The Wineguard HDA 200 has a seperate power supply. I prefer Wineguard or Channel Master. Look at the specs for the HDA 200 and see if it will work. Also I have a Hex crimper. Can it be used? The F connectors are really tight.
