Time Warner Cable Hints at More Modem Fee Hikes

In our area they did away with the $3.00 monthly discount for owning your modem, while raising the modem rental fee to $5.99 per month. Also, for people who don't own their modem and router, they are charging $14.99 for a home wifi fee monthly connection.

Am I able to obtain a digital adapter?

They gave you a new STB without a monthly charge? I find that hard to believe.

Considering a return to Time Warner

I did notice over the weekend though, that on TWLA-Sportsnet the Lakers preseason game was blacked out for the Buffalo WNY System. Whats the since of giving us the channel if we aren't gonna get the games? Also digitial adapters are coming for those old analog tv sets you have in your home as...

Latest 'n Greatest TW Digital HD/DVR Box?? (Just dropped DISH)

If you get the whole house dvr, I believe only the Cisco or Samsung Boxes work with it, with the Cisco box offering PIP while the Samsung doesn't. Both boxes are "ok", but not in the same league as a dish dvr. However you will get programming that you will probably never get back at Dish.

Considering a return to Time Warner

The old adelphia cable unit in our area had it too, but TWC dumped it here when they took it over. I can't imagine the NFL Network is watched less than other sports league channels? After all they carry SNY and YES, even though once baseball season is over who watches them?

They seemed like a great box; but the PIP feature was the killer for me.

Considering a return to Time Warner

I have the Cisco whole house dvr now; and had the SA and Samsung Boxes. Of the three, I actually liked the Saumsung the best; however the PIP feature does not work on the Sammys and if you watch alot of sports like I do, PIP is a must.

Considering a return to Time Warner

I don't necessarily agree with you on TWC HD PQ being better than Dish. TWC PQ on SD is defnitely better, but on HD they are very comparable, and who should be watching SD theses days anyways and rarely do. Furthermore, TWC SDV is not an exact science and I have had issues at times with it...

Considering a return to Time Warner

Call back and complain, they have some type of guarantee to be on time, etc. In my area, they basically use subcontractors for installs and have found them quite efficient, but I would be furious if they skipped my appointment too.

Why no HBO GO on Xbox 360?

They want you to buy a video subscription and not just internet subscription. Otherwise we could really "cut the cord":)

Considering a return to Time Warner

Right now I am paying $113 a month for Turbo Internet 20 mbps, whole house DVR (which includes hd dvr in living room and hd box in bedroom that can access the recordings on the dvr), All Time Warner Tiers, Sports Pass, Variety Pass, Movie Pass and HD Pass; basically everything except the HBO...

Considering a return to Time Warner

Its very hard to turn down the savings, especially when you are in my category and you won't get a local RSN with Dish anymore for your local teams. When your promo expires; call them again and tell them they are crazy what they want to charge you and they will come up with another deal for...

Considering a return to Time Warner

I have returned to TWC from Dish for over 2 years now, because of sports programing and the savings through bundling pricing. Picture Quality is generally good; Equipment is sub-standard compared to Dish; and I have had no issues with Surround Sound with them. However I don't always have my...

Does TWC NYC lower speeds to get users to buy higher speeds?

That sounds pretty much standard pricing on all the systems. The faster speeds are great especially when running multiple wireless devices and actually viewing hbo, espn or even using the TWC app on my iphone.

Does TWC NYC lower speeds to get users to buy higher speeds?

I don't know about them lowering speeds just to get you to buy a more expensive faster speed. In fact they just raised my speed a couple months ago gratis. I do keep track at my speed and find if my speed is lagging, I reboot the modem and router and that usually takes care of the problem. I...

    Pricing with HD channels?

If you are a current sub for some of their services, call them and tell them you are thinking of going to Directv, FIOS or Dish, they will make you a offer. Likewise if you are a Dish or Directv sub and telling them you are thinking of dumping the dish, they will make you a very enticing...
