How much did you pay for your first C-Band dish?

$999 +tax for 9ft Radio-shack & everything to get started. The re-branded Uniden receiver was re-capped which bought a couple more years but been through 5-6 receivers. The dish and original motor are still going.

    Install VCII Plus Descrambler

If any one is interested I have two VCII modules, one is a VCRS, the other is an older model. The last time I checked they both still had close to 3v on the batteries, but that was over a year ago. I tried posting them on eBay at that time but there was no interest shown. If there is any...

Don't Believe NPS about C band support ending.

Forum sponsors already offer forum members special discounts etc. If SRL or Skyvision would be willing to offer a token discount to Coop members.... Well it's just a thought....

    RIP 922

There has been a plague of bad caps in the electronics industry, you can get some more info at Badcaps.net - What Causes This although I would think that most 922's were made prior to this....

    The C-Band Chronicles: Motorola Speaks

Well with or without 4DTV I'm keeping my big dish. I'll continue to subscribe as long as I can afford to but it works very well for FTA both C and Ku, also and I'm sure that FTA will continue for some time to come.

    Radio Shack 9' sat dish

No, it's not worth anything.... I'll drive my pickup over there and help you get rid of it :) Damn, all new in the boxes! It has been my experience with mine that grease tends to attract dirt which makes a good abrasive, I greased mine for 20 years and wore a groove into my big spur gear.

Heres one to test your grey matter

It has long been known that certain syndicated programs are available ITC at regularly scheduled times. If the footprints extend to your location and you have a VCR then that could offer some options. Again not a substitute for cable, but who needs that cr*p anyways?

    4dtv compatible channels

I think Moto has been waiting for 4D/C-band to die off for some time now. I seem to remember monthly subscription reports that only reported on the number of VC2 modules that were active while totally ignoring 4D subs. Like a death watch. Once VC2 was gone c-band no longer existed.

    Got a DSR-4200 today

A couple of questions, what is OETA? and which bird is it on? and is it visible to a 922? I've been trying to figure out my KU problem on my BUD and a KU 4DTV feed would be helpful...

    Blackbelt on W1

I have been getting this channel on #300 for some time now. Last night it was blank. Any one know if it has been moved? Or what? Do I need to use a generic? Or a rehit? Thanks for your time. Edit: Never Mind, some how the skew got messed up, Now how did that happen?

    C band stations?

W5 channels BlindOwl1234, Blackbelt and American Life are 4DTV channels on W5 (105W). I don't think a DVB receiver can pick them up. Actually Lyngsat lists Blactbelt on 103W., but I know I get them both my 922.

    NASA on AMC-7 @ 137W and polarity

Well, I was successful, finally. It was a polarity problem. By adjusting the polarity on 360 North until the signal died and then scanning for Nasa I was able to pick up a weak signal. Further fine tuning has be hard to say the least. This is most likely due to several factors, one the bird is...

    NASA on AMC-7 @ 137W and polarity

I have been trying to pick up the NASA feeds on 137W with little success. I am able to get the 360 North feed on the same bird consistently. One thing I've noticed is that the 360 feed will show up on both H & V polarities. At first I thought my corotor was bad, so I replaced it but the same...

Janeil Dark Star- Need spur gear

I have a Radio Shack Dish that is the exact same mount as pictured. I too had the problem with the spur gear wearing out. There are two things that I was able to do, one I flipped the gear over and cut some spacers for the screw holes to act as stand-offs. This way I was able to use the unworn...

    Hallmark channel

ZK I'm sorry to have brought up the subject. I guess I just assumed that it fell outside of hack talk and was fair game.:( It has been my wifes mainstay for several years now. In fact I've considered putting a fixed dish on G3 just for her, so that I can have mine back again.
