DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

True, True, I'm a D* sub, and I personally don't watch any of the AMC shows except for "Mad Men". The rural area we live in, everyone has a dish of some type. Since Dishnet pulled AMC, In-laws, Co-workers, etc, who sub to Dish have been pissed. I had no idea the AMC shows had that kind of fan...

    Turbo HD dish type?

Sorry to sound like a newb, I haven't messed with Dishnetwork Dishes in years. Buddy has a grey Turbo HD dish, wants to purchase a second dish for camping, etc. I assume here in South Texas he's looking at 110/119/129 sats. What is the difference between the "black" turbo HD dishes and...

can I tune Dish HD with three "old-style" dual-lnb dishes (DTV dishes)

Interesting info There used to be a website with all the different set-up diagrams that could be done with Dishnetwork, but it's gone now. I helped with a set-up where a DirecTV Phase 2 dish was used, using the 110/119 LNB's for Dishnet ( not using the DirecTV 110 LNB ), and the 101 LNB for...

OFFICIAL DISH / FOX ORDEAL DISCUSSION THREAD

I have an issue with that statement Example: I live in a fringe area, 99% of the ppl around here have satellite, the only local OTA channels you can get without a good antenna on a 30ft pole are ABC and FOX, the tower for these 2 channels is 40+ miles away. BUT the FOX station went from UHF to...

    Dish Network in Mexico City

Sorry to change the subject, how are you getting 99 and 103 on different dishes? I haven't been able to find individual KA band LNB's yet

    Bait and Switch

On a slightly different subject: A bunch of my co-workers with dish tried to get reduced cost/free upgrades to HD, they were told no-way, several had been dish subs for 5-10 years as satellite is the only TV option around here..... Several have since moved to DirecTV, Dish and DirecTV to a...

    Mexico signal issues

Alan, Thanks for the link, never saw that before. According to that site, the DirecTV 103/99 Satellites have better Mexico coverage than the DirecTV 101 Satellite. :dev Very interesting, thanks again

    Anyone been audited lately?

A while back an "older" co-worker of mine got audited and somehow wasn't fast enough for the auditor, He switched to DirecTV sometime after and Dish lost another long-time customer due to this stupidity. Most ppl down here simply want to pay their bill and watch TV with no hassles. Most around...

    DISH Locals Launching in June

Sorry I didn't count KMOL as it is fed directly to Suddenlink cable for Victoria, and the OTA signal "piggy-backs" with KAVU and is very very low power compared to KAVU and KVCT.

    DISH Locals Launching in June

Wow... Victoria Texas, last on the list, that will be two networks: KVCT-FOX and KAVU-ABC, I wonder what CBS and NBC they'll pull in and if those will be in HD. I know of a lot of subs in Victoria County who have "moved" for years to get locals. They are in a odd spot as the only county in...

    Bye bye and Thanks, Dish!

Very well put indeed... In my area with Satellite being the only real option for TV, you see a good bit of switching back and forth. The County north of us, Dish just announced that they are going to carry the locals, so many subs in that area who had to "move" to get locals will be happy...

What is the Deal in Mexico for DISH?

boarder patrol? lol. Ahoy matey's, watch out for those boarders!!!:) Seriously though, I know of a few U.S. Citizens who take their sat systems to Mexico, It's not just the locals who are watching U.S. Satellites.

    Mexico signal issues

I don't think that necessary applies down South I know of a few in Mexico; U.S. citizens and Mexico Citizens that get DirecTV, they pay their bill either through their U.S. addresses, or through relatives here. I personally see nothing wrong with this myself.... just my 2 cents....

    Mexico signal issues

You know the U.S. sat companies have to realize that they have subs south of the border that pay their bills, abeit some in a round about way. While it may be "illegal" or frowned upon, it still brings $$ into their coffers. You would think that they would leave the footprint alone...

    Mexico signal issues

Thats for sure, I know of a few who get DirecTV in Mexico, but most of them are closer to the border, Can you get the DirecTV 101 sat signal in Mexico City? alexcast, That is an impressive set-up, maybe with that big of dish, you need to re-adjust the LNB's for the Satellite changeover.

in the dog house after 5 years

Some installers do check this, when I had my DVR upgrade the DirecTV tech asked how I had 6 receivers on my account when I only had 4 lines going in the house, until I showed him the 2nd dish on the back of my house, and the receivers. My house was built in 1961 and was added on twice, it was...

    dish disabled 2 reciever

What a mess, hope it works out for you.... Just my 2 cents: :) I think that if someone in Canada or Mexico wants to pay to watch U.S. Satellite TV they should be allowed. Do the Canadian Sat companies go to all this effort to stop U.S. based subs? no. I know of several people who have...

    DISH AUDIT TEAM STRIKES AGAIN

I'm a longtime rural DirecTV subscriber, many of my friends and co-workers have DirecTV or DISHNET due to the fact many of us live in the sticks, and for those that can get cable, the local cable companies only have around 25 channels and no HD, etc. An older co-worker has had Dishnetwork for...

Ok... Now they Have Me Pissed! (Dish Audit Police)

DirecTV in the past used to turn off receivers that were not hooked to phone lines, but from my past experience they only turned off the ird's not hooked to the phone lines, not every ird on the customers account. Lately though DirecTV seems to have really loosened up regarding the phone line...

    Dish in Mexico City, Mexico

1.8 meter, I guess that is about 6 ft ?? I know of a person down your way who is using a 10ft solid-type ( non mesh ) C-band dish w/ a D* LNB rigged up to it. Last I chatted with him he was still getting a good signal. I know it's out of the footprint down there, but I assume a bigger...

Help! Service turned off because of lack of phone connection!

I've been a D* subscriber since 1994. I used to install D* & Dish for a few years in the late 90's, Satellite TV being the only thing to watch around here. I'm not here to bash Dish, just to give my opinions and ideas on this phone line BS... I live way out in the sticks, literally. My house...
