Hope this guy wins against Dish

The article clearly states that the use was while he was off-duty. If an employer wanted to fire an employee for doing the legal things you mentioned while at home, there would definitely be an issue.

    Longhorn Network

I do not believe that Dish is crazy enough to put out flyers in neighborhoods promoting the SEC Network and then make it SD-only. There will be holy hell to pay if they sucker people in for a standard definition channel that will likely be on other providers within few months to a year in HD.

Had to put Dish on Pause

    They don't.

Longhorn Network to launch on DISH on May 28.

I bet I will watch more Longhorn Network than the majority of other channels this year and I have no affinity for Texas. I also doubt it costs that much when you consider that it was just shoved into a broader deal that involved getting the SEC Network off the ground and Disney dealing with...

    2014 MPEG 4 Conversions

And you don't think this happens just as often in the eastern part of the country? I am in Knoxville, TN with no LOS to EA. I have lived in three different houses in this town in the last five years. This is the second time that has happened to me. I also can't do anything about the trees...

CBS Chief Leslie Moonves Addresses Upcoming Negotiations With Dish Network

That doesn't sound very willing to do anything but threaten.

Dish CEO says merger with DirecTV 'could make a lot of sense'

Then go away and let someone else do it? The manure will hit the proverbial fan is ESPN goes missing.

DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

My Dish account has come out of hibernation again. Maybe ESPNU in HD will show up this year. I'm not counting on it, but it is unlikely that the two sides will come to a deal without that channel.

    Dish Police back in action.

I'd do it just to see if they would call me. There is nothing illegal or improper about doing that.

Installing Joeys using Cat 5 instead of Coax

But it works. This whole conversation is outside of standards. In the end, it is up to the user to see what works for them.

What Dish should do if they get Sprint ...

I am aware this isn't a Dish idea, but it does seem to be a Qualcomm idea if the article is anything to go by.

    Can you go both ways?

In my neighborhood they try to call 3mbit DSL Uverse. That is the fastest speed available to me. Thankfully my Comcast connection is very reliable.

cancel dish and sending in equipment

That blows. I had a Joey taken out when I moved and the tech wanted the remote for it. Sure would have been nice to have a spare...

What Dish should do if they get Sprint ...

So, under this idea, they want to use my internet connection and my electricity that I pay for to build their network that others will use? No. If they want to use me as a tool for their service, then they need to pay me.

    Top 120, 120 plus vs top 200

Getting your local OTA will always be higher quality that the feed provided to you by Dish or DirecTV unless they have a special arrangement to get an uncompressed source. They recompress them from the original MPEG2 to MPEG4, so the difference isn't usually a big one, but you can tell the...

No more Atlanta Braves on Sports South?

I just gave them my real address in Tennessee. Moving is extremely easy. You can do it in an online chat and tell them your new service address, and that everything is hooked up and working OK if they ask. Once they change the service address to a market outside of Atlanta you'll get the Braves...

No more Atlanta Braves on Sports South?

Except with the way Dish mixes up their programming tiers and hardware costs, I pay the same with them as I do with DirecTV. If I didn't prefer the Hopper system to DirecTV's setup (that I use six months out of the year) then I'd have no reason to use Dish.

    Can you go both ways?

The internet is probably a tainted source for this information. I have Comcast 30mbit and I use it and abuse it.

No more Atlanta Braves on Sports South?

Well, I can confirm that I did get the Friday game on SportSouth. It wasn't worth watching a 10-0 loss, but it was on. I had to "move" back home from Atlanta though.

NEW DISH Pricing as of May 23, 2013

I am very pleased that my bill isn't going up any more. Sad that I won't be able to add a second Hopper before that date though. Still, this was a good move by Dish for existing subscribers.

No more Atlanta Braves on Sports South?

And I find this out after reactivating my account for the summer... My DirecTV account is on suspension until October. I might just bite the cancellation fee for this one. Raising prices while offering less than before is not my idea of a good service. Unless.... Doesn't that imply that...
