I believe there is a setting in the 360's menu that you have to turn on to enable other remotes besides the Microsoft remote. Otherwise it ignores all other remotes so it doesn't get an accidental command. Might check that out

I've noticed this a lot as well. I really just though it was because my signal strength on 129 was around 50, but apparently others have the same issues. It is something that is in every one of my recordings from MTV. If only MTV had more than 2 shows in HD anyway.

I always figured they went off the part of the guide data that shows "new" if an episode is new. as I've had programs that are several years old with old dates that randomly said "new" in the description and it recorded it on a new only timer

I don't think it would work with the tv2 remote as it uses IR to transfer the info. You need to have the remote pointed at the receiver with a clear shot for it to transfer. If it checks your remote for backups and it can't read it it's not going to give you the option to restore.

Im pretty sure dtv LNB's do not work with dish equipment. They are designed to pick up only certain dtv transponders. I could be wrong though
