    Wow stupid People

I agree. I've had good installers and I've had bad installers. Some just don't want to do anymore than they have to, i.e. making sure the settings are correct on the receiver for my particular TV.

    Wow stupid People

I went over to my brother-in-law's boss's house. Picture was not quite right on his 60" plasma. Setting for HD was set to 480p on his 622. I switched it, the difference was dramatic. It had been on the wrong setting for over a year!

    Trying to get NFL Network

I have Dish. My friend has Time Warner, hence no NFL Network. He's having a Christmas party tonight and we want to watch the Cowboys/Saints game. I have an extra Dish 500 with no LNB. I took the LNB off my wing satellite and put it on the extra dish and took my 612 over to set up...

NFL RZC a New Excuse for Charlie

I totally agree. I live in an area where I get Austin, San Antonio, and with a little tweaking, I could get Waco or Victoria. Every now and again each Fox or CBS affiliate will show different games. So on any given Sunday, I could watch as many as 6 different games without paying anything...

    Aspect ratio for TV2

My parents have a 57" Hitachi HDTV in their living room with a 622. Output for TV2 is to a 32" Toshiba widescreen HDTV. Fooling around on it the other day, I noticed that if I had it on single mode and shared view, the aspect ratio for TV2 was the same as if it was TV1, just not in HD as it's...

EZ Way to Add an a 2nd HD TV to a 622?

$50 is a one time fee. I have the AEP, so the extra DVR fee is waived but I do have a $7 leased receiver fee. Different recordings on both means double my recording time too. I agree. My parents have TV2 of their 622 going to a 32" 720p Toshiba. There is a difference compared to HD, but...

EZ Way to Add an a 2nd HD TV to a 622?

I had the same situation. I decided to swap my 622 for two 612s (Dish charged me $50). There are a few drawbacks to the 612 compared to the 622 but to me they are minor and I now have an HD-DVR in both my living room and my bedroom.

OTA HD audio stutter when ran through VIP612 - but no problem if straight to TV

I swapped my 622 for two 612s a few months ago. I was getting no picture, just a black screen, from my local CBS station 42.1. Audio was fine.(both 612s). I called tech support and they told me they would look into the problem. A week later it was fixed.

    612 problem

42.1 comes in just fine on the digital tuners in both of my HDTVs so I'm guessing it's a problem with my 612s.

    612 problem

I recently exchanged my 622 for two 612s. All is well except that my local CBS station KEYE 42 doesn't come in OTA on either 612. I have program info and my signal strength is about 87%. Sound comes in fine but no picture. This is only on the main channel 42.1. I actually get their...

    612 vs. 622

I added an HDTV to my bedroom. Had a 622 and wanted another one or a 722. Dish wouldn't add one to my account without giving up my 625 for my 2 kids room. So I swapped my 622 for two 612s...1 for the living room and 1 for my bedroom. The 625 is still in my son and daughter's room.

Austin, TX HD locals -- need 2 dishes?

I "moved" back from San Antonio when Austin HD locals became available. A second dish was added at the 61.5 position at no extra cost to me. I didn't have to haggle or anything. And unlike San Antonio, NBC is available as well. As for the picture quality, I'm very impressed. I have a hard...

    1080i or 720p?

When done correctly 1080i can look just as good if not better than 720p i.e. our local CBS station has no substations up until about 3 weeks ago. During NFL season I much prefered CBS's picture over our Fox's 720p (no substations) picture. But again, it's all a matter of taste in the end.
