I have DIRECTV DBS service but had also used the DIRECTV stream option via an Apple TV and to me the PQ looks as good as the DBS service. Since you can cancel the DIRECTV stream service act any time why not just try it and see how you like it before considering the DBS service with its commitments.

Check the new C71KW, Gemini mini client. It does 4K and can be either wired or wireless.

I assume you means a HS17. You need to have a mini client in order to us it and set it up. There is no app for it, unless you’re a DIRECTV tech which has an app they can use. What LNB are you using now?

Most channels, yes. Apple TV, Roku or Firestick for now, not a TV app.. Says it can be used out of home IIRC.

If you have a Genie and it's internet connected they've added a function where if you lose the signal it will ask if you want to continue to watch via streaming, no need for the app for that reason

Well, I didn’t sign up for stream, just authenticated with my AT&T login and it worked. I know it’s looking at my Genie since it knows what I’ve recorded and if I say to record something on the app it’s recording on the GENIE.

The HS17 doesn't support OTA (as mentioned above), the ESPN app or PIP on the clients. That said I've had the same HS17 from the early customer test program and it's going strong.

I can see it costing Comcast a ton more money since they'd have to install the hardware for doing dynamic bit rates vs DIRECTV that has to only do it at their broadcast center.
