I just read that my tv automatically upconverts all signals to 720p or 1080p. So I guess I should just turn Native OFF and let the TV do the work.

I've been messing with my settings too...it's my understanding that a 720p signal is superior to the 1080i signal, and that superiority is amplified with heavy motion and when displayed on a plasma tv. makes sense that ESPN and co. send a 720p signal....if its good enough for them, it's good...

also happened to both of my HR20's...call in and get them replaced with the HR21. It, too, has some issues, but I haven't had a single problem with recording or playback since mine were switched out.
