    For this price, they should have put DVD-Audio back into the machine (as it was in the "10"). Throw in SACD and you have a winner. Looks like we'll have to see if Denon ever comes out with a true "universal player", but with their economic situation - don't hold your breath.

    People bought the XBOX 360 as a video game. People bought the Wii as a video game. The PS2 still outsells the PS3 buy a lot (1.5 million). I don't think that those looking for "good games" really give a crap about HD video. We do here, they don't.

    Good points. Sony was NOT going to have another Beta, and when Paramount and Universal went HD-DVD only, they went to the mattress and for the kill - and did it. The funny thing is that had Paramount and Universal gone dual format, it actually may have been better for HD-DVD. Go figure!

    IMHO, he loses a lot of credibility with such a slanted viewpoint. Before this "war" mentality, he always seemed like such a rational guy. If it's indeed true that it's all because Toshiba would not give him a free player than it's a shame. That's not "objective journalism".

    The best way for the BD folks to end this war is to have the BD studios release a flood of great, highly desirable titles that will get folks out to the store to buy a player or PS3. Quite frankly, the releases from both sides have been a bit lackluster lately....

    I agree. It's childish. I don't like a lot of the things Sony has done, but that doesn't mean I won't buy things from them. I prefer the Panasonic BD players. So? Doesn't mean I won't buy a Sony released disc. That's just stupid.
