My original point was that with variety (Original 21 plus 10 Premium Movie Channels) comes choice, whether it is Devine HD or Guy HD. As Shakespeare once said....."the HDTV's the thing!" (Didn't he??)

Hope you're right Ilya. Like a Cubs fan I'm willing to "wait until next year." Meanwhile Time Warner Cable with INHD1&2 is covering a lot of new ground just like VOOM when it started.

You're kiddding, right?? Some cable companies (like Time Warner) will offer you a special "leaving satellite coming to cable" deal. As proof they will remove your dish and take it with them.

The Dish 811 is just not strong enough to pull in OTA HD locals. I'm dusting off my VOOM STB and re-connecting it to view my OTA HD locals. :)

If you are using the stb only for OTA that means you only need to have the antenna connected. You don't need to have the Voom dish connected any longer. Why not just disconnect the dish cable (where any signal would be sent) and continue with the antenna cable? That's what I did until I got DISH.

Since TWC currently duplicates all of my DISH channels the only reason I have DISH is for the VOOM channels. So, if TWC decides to carry the VOOM original 21 in 2006 then I would seem to have no further reason to subscribe to DISH.

Seems to me the VOOM pictures are a little sharper and clearer since they went DISH. Be glad when they get the other half of VOOM up and running.

I am really enjoying my HDTV again these days now with both E* and the 10 VOOM channels they added.....BUT.... 1/2 VOOM is not VOOM. The full compliment of 21 channels was a lot better and I find myself wishing for World Sport, Kung FU and World Cinema among others. Be glad when they add the rest.

And remember that after the $19.99 price is over we have to choose the 60,120 or 180 pack because then we are locked in at that price for a year. If we downgrade after July 31 there is a penalty. That is my understanding.
