This is a good idea, but I thought there was a fee for having an HD receiver w/o HD, or did I miss that change??? :)

They need to start making an MPEG4 SD out only unit. Take some of the returned failed units, disable the HD out then people who don't want HD don't have to pay extra for an HD unit, this way they can start converting the WA to MPEG4

Anybody in VA using a Dish 300 for 129? If so, what signal strengths are you getting, and what settings??? If this blizzard ever goes away, i may have to try seeing if i can see 129 temporarily w/o my garage getting in the way :( This sux 'cuase I've really been looking fwd to the new ones... :(

Ok, I've checked "the list" & I see that the Norfolk, VA locals are shown on 129 as well as 61.5? Anybody in VA able to confirm this? And, I have a Dish 300 pointed @ 61.5, can the 300 be used to pick up 129 if I can get an LOS? Thx...

^^^ sorry "K" think we typed @ the same time ;-) I wonder if they'll be offering upgrades (discount or free) for those of us they set up before the establishment of EA??? I mean, it wasn't our fault we couldn't see 129, & not our fault we have the "combo" setup of Super Dish & wing dish :(

Well, sure looks like i'm screwed... I have 110/119/61.5... my HD locals are on 61.5 :( so i can't move that to 129 :( I can't upgrade to EA cause I have 2 311's (MPEG2) receivers... this sux, price increase & no access to new HD... WTF?

Good question... if not, Dish gonna spring for new dishes??? :)

Don't know where in DE you live, but some of northern DE is in a PA DMA, perhaps you could "move" a little further north :)

I wonder why the VA Beach area locals are still on 129? Just for people who can't see 61.5?

They seem to be employing this with some of the EA channels, but that is all MPEG4. If they drop the SD's that are on 110 & 119... customers w/ MPEG2 systems will lose the channel all together... that would be bad...

I see that Norfolk, VA is close to going EA, they have turned on the MPEG4 SD on 61.5... Now that they're on, will my 622 default to 61.5, or is that what the new card will bring, if I should get on?

This looks like what they're going to do for Norfolk, VA. If you look at "the list", the big 4 are in HD only (WAVY, WTKR, WVEC, & WVBT). The networks such as "my tv" and the CW, along w/ the Norfolk PBS's are MPEG4 SD (just not available). They may do this w/ the rest of the markets once all...
