    Transponder 11770 on Galaxy 16 99.2°W

Yeah, I have a 120cm dish and sometimes barely lock the signal when it is running on low power. When the mux is used for actual STL duty, the power is higher. Your 90cm may find it at higher power.

    Newbie needs guidance!

I'd be getting me a pole in a bucket of concrete to toy with on the ground, then take it up to the roof for final installation. My first install was on a roof, never again. I had a low pitch but I never like the transition from the roof, back down the ladder.

Not to get us off topic, but yes. If you go by 36MHz transponders, and consider only 200MHz of C band spectrum will remain, it divides into 5.5 transponders per polarity. That doesn't account for the guard bandwidth. So, I figure only 10 transponders per satellite. Some may have more than that...

The filters help with the 5G interference. The problem will be when C band is limited to 10 transponders in 2024. Every satellite will have to use the same frequencies and adjacent satellite interference will make smaller dishes obsolete on C band. Not trying to discourage you, just advising...

With the 5G changes to C Band, I would not even bother with it unless you get the dish for nearly free or it is 10+ft diameter.

For what it is, it's pretty handy. Just wish the numbers on the meter made sense.

Great job finding 97w. Many people give up before that point. Motors are really FUN. But they really help enjoy the experience without a bunch of dishes.

    Newbie needs guidance!

I read page 1 and came here to say move on from the GT Media meter. I had one and it is not very helpful other than knowing you have a signal. The meter numbers are all over the place.

    PBS on 125

The 12180V transponder is programming. The horizontal transponders show colorbars most of the time, but PBS feeds things down too on a schedule of sorts.

Good News and Bad News about 5g and the replacement C Band Satellites

If you want just agreement, then I won't bother responding as to why this is so different than VCII.

Good News and Bad News about 5g and the replacement C Band Satellites

I'm happy we have FTA but I'm preparing for the possible end of my C Band hobby. These cable companies aren't ordering big 4.5m dishes for nothing. 10ft dishes may become the new 6ft dishes once every satellite is using the same transponders on the same polarity. I hope not...

    Ku on big dish?

I have a Ku LNBF feedhorn to play with. You can feed a typical offset LNBF into it and the tube has a Ku size scalar ring and clamp to attach it to a C band scalar. Got it for $30 from AliExpress about 18 months ago. No longer sold... But it looks nifty. I want to experiment with feeding it...

    Ku on big dish?

8 is more than I'd like... If I still had room for 2 BUDs, I'd just dedicate my 7.5' to Ku.

    Ku on big dish?

Do you know about how many degrees away from center will a sidecar ku LNBF be facing if just outside the C band scalar?

CONTEST!! Enter To Win - Edision OS Mio 4K DVBS2X STB from Titanium Satellite - Ends August 15, 2021

If you are in Central Arkansas, I may be able to help. At least start with ku band FTA.

What's the deal with NBC Mux Ch4 on SES-3 (103W), KU?

Does this mux still run 24/7? I have a 1.2m and still rarely have it scan in.

    NoaaPort Setup

Ever have any progress with this? I am a trained storm observer and would like to get into this. I don't see why you couldn't receive the signal with a Titanium LNBF.

It is on 89w, using a linear C-Band TP for downlink. 4040V, 30000SR. I receive the signal on my 10ft dish.

All the SES 4K channels will be going fiber only on January 1, 2021.

Equipment is cheaper than it has ever been. I don't see why the gloom and doom. I like feed stalking alone enough to justify what I have spent on equipment. And there is definitely some hope with the new launches! I'm not saying go buy a new 10ft or 12ft dish, but keep your eye open for used...

    CSPAN analog still there?

This toshiba has no LNBF setting, so I am trying to slave it to an Edision Mini OS. I have the tuner B of the edision on a vertical TP on 131 and Loop Out connected to the Toshiba. Anything else I need to check? I'm not getting a signal on the Toshiba. But the on screen display menu works.

    CSPAN analog still there?

I bought a Toshiba TRX-80 on a cheap offer from ebay. I plan to use it to move my dish once I get my sensor wired. I planned to feed it with a Loop Out from an Edision Mini OS, but I suddenly can't get that receiver to turn on... So can I directly connect the Toshiba to my Titanium LNBF? I...

    97W - can’t get good signal quality

A roof mount as far away from that tree line will help.

    97W - can’t get good signal quality

I think the trees have your number. But I would check at dishpointer.com and use the Line of Sight map tool. It helped me know the closest I could place my dish to the house without blocking signals to my west.
