Ok, thanks. I'm trying to start with the Huntington Beach webcams at 11942, but can't get a lock in that at all.

    NBC related questions

Is NBC still active here at AMC 1? I had to reset things, and can't find NBC, nor the Huntington Beach webcams? I have to ask, because I know there's been a new satellite deployed to take over.

I haven't gotten anything via C-band as of yet, but I haven't tried too hard to get anything either. I should re-try again when the weather warms up (if it ever will) by positioning the LNB a little closer to the center. I wasn't expecting much initially anyways, so even a few C-band channels...

I can get the NBC Mux on 103, using a dedicated LNB on a rail mount. It's even offset from the center, but the signal still comes in well here in Southern Ontario on a 85 cm elliptical (motorized) dish (it's the LNB second from the left in the picture): I had to compensate for the offset on...

It's starting to look like mid December around here.

I thought leaves changed colour due to there not being as much sunlight in the autumn months (relating to photosynthesis), and it has nothing to do with an early spring or drought conditions. In fact, a drought may delay the changing of the colours of the leaves, as the tree may not be able to...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Jim - I'm not getting anything right now with it, and just placed it to the right for now. I should try getting some channels again by moving it closer to the center. I know some people have had limited success with 90 cm dishes.

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Yeah... I knew that (thanks for the reminder though). I guess I just keep it this way to make sure my connections are tight when I climb up there to check on things, or maybe it looks a bit better this way. For others... this dish is the MutliStar 85 cm elliptical one. Some NBC transponders...

Updated image: The US Open feed is looking great on the NBC mux!

    Cant find 103W

Thanks... I got it back. I did have to park it at around 108 for it to work for my setup. TP's 11840 and 11880 for the NBC Mux are coming in at a very low quality. Maybe I'll have to adjust the elevation on the dish a bit.

    Cant find 103W

Does 103 still work and have the Huntington Beach webcams and the NBC Mux? I lost my motor setting for this satellite, and am trying to find it again. Since I have the LNB for this satellite to the leftside of my center LNB, things aren't straightforward for me to set things up. Since the...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

You can see the skew on the NBC dedicated LNB for me - it is second from the left:

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

I think officially it's a 26 degree skew from how the 103 LNB should be. I went 7 degrees CW from zero based on where I am (southern Ontario), as I didn't have a dedicted LNB setup for 103 initially (just a motor that could tune the main LNB to there). You could try something around 7 degrees...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Well, I finally got 103 to come back in. First of all, it was showing up as 119 when trying to scan it. I have no idea why it would (maybe due to the other offset LNB's)? Then when I was set with my one receiver, I would switch to the other receiver, and things would rotate slightly on me...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Well, I do see a jump in signal strength when I rotate to that bird and use the tp for the Huntington Beach webcams, but I get 0 quality. But the same LNB gets other satellites fine when I rotate the dish. Strange.

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Yeah, Lyngsat is not always up to date, even though it is a good resource. I bet it is because the new satellite is moving into place that nothing comes in right now on AMC 1.

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

I believe the NBC C-Band feeds were always on 105, but there were some Ku ones that I can no longer get. I heard AMC 1 was being replaced soon, as they launched SES-3 on July 15th . But I also read that SES-3 won't be ready to be fully operational until next year... maybe it's sooner than that?

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Are these NBC feeds still available on 103? For some reason, they won't come in anymore for me. I read that the Pentagon Channel did move, but I tried scanning other channels in too, like the Huntington Beach webcams, and it was no go for me (the non-NBC channels used to come in even though...

    97W and 103W on a 36" dish?

I heard the Pentagon channel moved to 101 - SES-1. I can't get the Huntington Beach, nor the NBC Mux on 103 anymore... what gives?

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

I tweaked the dish using the motor as well late last night, going 2 increments total (1 at a time) to the east, and I have no pixilation / dropouts on the East and Central channels anymore - which have the lowest quality out of the bunch. I can't wait to see Sunday Night Football on NBC via...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

I found some time just before my evening activities, and I did move it closer to the centre. I saw a few percentage points jump in the signal quality I believe, but nothing major. But everything is locked in place now. Next thing might be to try out a C-band LNB with a conical scalar ring!

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Ok, I'll try it out and see how it goes. I won't have time to do much the next two nights, but I'll keep you posted! Thanks to you Keith and everyone else for your help!

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

I see. I was trying to play around with some of the audio setup in the AZ Box, but I still couldn't get the centre channel to come in. There's about 6-7 selections, so I guess there can be a lot of combinations. Another quick question... I guess the closer you are to the centre of the dish...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

I scanned in 11760 as well, and it's in the mid-60's. I can't get 11880 right now whatsoever. I thought I had it earlier for a bit, but right now, there's 0 quality. I guess that is the toughest to get. But it's still interesting to see what's on these NBC channels. Another question, how...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

Well, some success... I placed the LNB in the proper position in terms of the offset on the rail as much as possible by checking out other channels on 103. Then I started playing around with the skew, and I got the NBC tp (11880) to come in at about 62 percent. I couldn't get it too much...

NBC DVB-S2 Feeds on AMC1 Ku

It's funny Keith, I always thought about doing things when the dish was stationed at 110, but I kept referencing 82 because I was talking about the 0 skew point and the fact that I haven't setup the LNB for NBC with any skew at all, but yeah, in the back of my mind, I knew I want to do the...
