Need Help with Rotator Control Box

This box is even more simpler and does not have any potentionmeter. the motor in the box turns at the same rate as the motor at the antenna. The motor uses an ac signal, and the capacitor delays the ac signal. You have 3 wires going to the motor. Return, AC and DELAYED AC. Return wire always...

Need Help with Rotator Control Box

The two yellow pieces are what stops the clear plastic piece from turning by causing friction. Should be able to create new ones on a 3D printer if you know anyone with a 3D printer. If not a piece of scrap plastic, a dremel tool and files to create a replacement. Teflon would be too...

Need Help with Rotator Control Box

The two yellow triangular pieces of plastic are there to cause friction to hold the clear dial from turning. (you push the dial down when you want to turn the knob) If these are too slippery the dial will not stay in place. Also the spring pushing the dial upwards may not be stiff enough and has...

#1 digitnet MeTV starting saturday morning cartoons back up in 2021

When I was younger I had a 2.2" colour tv from RadioShack, and also a 12" b/w TV. The 12" got a lot of use, but the 2.2" was fun to play around with. Nowadays, I still have a 14" colour TV in my bedroom and a large LCD in the living room. That 14" still gets a lot of use watching the old TV...

    struggling to get reception

It sounds like you have the antenna feed split to multiple devices. If you connect it up to only one device with no splitter installed, do you get all the channels reliably? If so, a powered splitter may be used to overcome the loss of signal. You may try an antenna pre-amp, but with so many...

    Antenna ID needed...time to replace?

You will probably find reception will be dependent on the seasons. At that distance, the atmosphere plays a great factor in reception.

Who here has an OTA antenna but is not a cord cutter?

Cable TV and OTA antenna. My antenna reception is not reliable as the trees in my neighborhood have grown a lot in the last few years and I could use two more sections to my TV tower. (which still would only give me fair to good but not reliable reception) My antenna gives me channels not...

    Antenna Changes - Belgrade, MT

It may help if you could get your antenna closer to the peak of the roof. Trees and buildings will reduce the signal and can cause reflections. In general, TV signals are line of sight. Anything blocking the line of sight will reduce the signal. You could try connecting a piece of coax to the...

How far away can you get channels nowdays with an antenna?

I have a lot of 2 edge signals in my area. Before cable and satellite became popular, it was common to have a 40 foot to 65 foot tower with extreme fringe rated antenna and a pre-amplifier. Stations were 65 to 85 miles away. You would loose the signals some times, but for the most part, they...

    Homemade OTA antenna

I made a VHF CH 10 antenna a few years ago. I cut and rolled aluminum flashing for the 10 elements. It was based on an old antenna that they posted the measurements on the digital home Canada forums. Works very well and still in use. It sits on top of my tower along with an antennas direct 91XG...

    Balun Info?

Water inside the balun will cause problems, may it be corrosion or just lower signal. The solder connections inside the balun may become bad if water has been sitting inside it. If it is not sealed, then there should be a small drain hole for the water to exit. Different baluns will have...

Will this 2-way splitter work OK for OTA?

The arrows indicate the direction of flow of DC power from the power supply to the amplifier, not the direction of the TV signal flow..

Will this 2-way splitter work OK for OTA?

When you put the splitter in, your signals will be a little less than half of having no splitter. Also, it the length of coax from the power supply signal out, to the splitter and finally to the neighbours tv is a long run, you may loose too much signal for reliable reception (on that one...

    Economical OTA Recording Equipment?

You can always use a Hauppauge USB tuner plugged into a PC with one of the many free media centre style programs. The 950Q and 955Q are excellent tuners. If once you see what is there and want to move up to a full function PVR as well as multi tuners, the USB stick will work with the Edison as...
