New Cox Cable Bashing by ESPN

I personally would love a la carte, but you can't just do it with one channel. The only way it’s a benefit is to have everyone do it. What’s the point of 150 channels if we don't watch more than 10 of them with any regularity? Of course a la carte would kill smaller channels like DIY...

New Cox Cable Bashing by ESPN

You people are so myopic. Its not just espn that is the problem. What about USA, TNT and other channels that overpay for sports? If I wanted to just add every sports channel (which i would if I could) and drop those that did not have sports because I only watch TV for sports, how would you...

Typical Charlie. FOCUS ON THE PRODUCT, NOT THE BUNDLE.

    Sony's PSX-Citement

I don't buy that argument. Why should I not pay for a TiVo subscription. To continue to expect DVR's to be free is misguided. The aussie and the dish salesman can say all they want about no DVR fees, but it won't be up to them in the future.

    Sony's PSX-Citement

How can you say that? I would always pay to have TiVo functionality if offered.

    Sony's PSX-Citement

I would agree. I would assume it includes TiVo since Sony has a huge investment in the company, but its just a guess. I heard on NPR today that they are looking at it like a HMO box and stream video, sound and pictures off of your home computer to it. Sounds cool, but we won't really know...

    Sony's PSX-Citement

Keep in mind this is not a U.S. product. Lets not assume anything about what this might look like when they bring it here. USB 2.0 or firewire could be added. Expect a much lower price here too....

ESPN & FOX Sports Net getting too expensive for COX cabl

This was frontpage news on the Arizona Republic... http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/business/articles/1007Cox07.html I for one don't watch anything other than sports on my system. If I have to pay extra, I want to drop some channels I don't watch. This street should go both ways...

Tivo stock off over questions on DirecTV future

Maybe this is the article that put a scare into everyone... http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache:n91duScDj6IJ:asia.news.yahoo.com/030919/3/14ngk.html&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

Tivo stock off over questions on DirecTV future

I think that forbes article is horrible. The reason TiVo stock went down was because of what is called short selling. These people were just looking for a reason to sell their TiVo stock. If you keep an eye on the stock it will slowly go back up. There is no news here. We all have known...

Scott's Thought's: Satellite HDTV - Too Little, Too Late?

I've read that they could give a national feed for like CBS and when commercials run, swap the local commercials in their place. That would work well for all IMO.

Scott's Thought's: Satellite HDTV - Too Little, Too Late?

Very true. I have an antenna right, now on top of my TV, but I hate it. I don't get ABC really well so football games are tought to get. Sure I could get a new antenna, but why should I have to pay for one? They need to take off the small markets and give the large markets...

Scott's Thought's: Satellite HDTV - Too Little, Too Late?

No local HD on Sat, why bother? I hate having to pull out the antenna and stick it on top of the TV. Its bad enough having to put a dish outside.... Either offer HD locals and a HD DVR soon or there is no reason for staying.

Scott's Thought's: Satellite HDTV - Too Little, Too Late?

I've never lost my Cox Telephone and Internet over the past 4 years I've had them. I have rain fade every time we get a monsoon or dust storm in the summer here.

Scott's Thought's: Satellite HDTV - Too Little, Too Late?

I've been going back and forth on this. I have DirecTV HD, but Cox can offer just what I have with my locals, and I don't need an ugly dish. If DirecTV can get a HD TiVo out soon, I might stay, but if I get into the spring without one, I might be calling up Cox.

    ESPN HD Picture Quality Question?

I've had no issues with HD games on ESPN. Most people who see it on my TV can't tell its not 1080i. If you TV can handle 720p, it should look just as good as 1080i to most people. The bigger issue with HD sports is the camera's. I don't always think ABC/ESPN puts their cameras in the...

    Rupert Drops DVR Fees!

Buying TiVo would cost a ton more than it would have to buy ReplayTV. Anyway I doubt Sony or any other brand that uses TiVo would want that. The solution for Dish is license TiVo. You can download the changes to the Linux kernal here, but not the part that makes TiVo, TiVo.

    America Attacked 9/11

Dell Expects to Offer Flat-Panel TVs, Electronics

Reuters Article Well put a fork into Gateway. There is no way they can compete against Dell in this market. Not sure if I would sent five grand for a TV without seeing it first though.
