My DirecTV contract finally ended and AT&T could not offer me anything to keep me from switching over to Grande for TV with saving money and finally getting ESPN back and other channels. Direct TV is too expensive and more so if you do not bundle with AT&T Internet. Which not an option as we...
Grande Communications has officially begun to offer the 1GIG speeds as of this week via DOCSIS 3.1 modem for $70 before tax all unlimited to Little ELM and Frisco services area where its only competition is ATT for the most part ATT Copper lines
A former AT&T Power 45 internet customer for over a year waiting for the AT&T Fiber to come into the new neighborhood which never occurred. So after two neighbors switched to Grande I made the jump from AT&T 45 paying AT&T $60 a month to Grande paying $46 a month for 200/20 with unlimited data...
After seeing this post a while back and trying to figure out when the TWC Maxx will actually be turned on for Dallas and surrounding area's it seems from TWC it will be on April 7th. This is when TWC goes all Digital on that day with the Analog being turned off for good. My info comes from...
I got a call from TWC in Dallas to try one of the Hindi packages for free for a few months. So I took the offer as my parents have them with Dish. I was shocked at the PQ of the channels on TWC the picture seems either squashed on some channels or stretched on others, and almost all of the...
I've noticed lately with Cox in our city that the installer only put a filter in place for TV if you have a sat dish on your property! Otherwise they tend to not place a filter on the line so you can get the free local channels on your TV with out needing the off air antenna.
An update it seems the 8642HDC DVR the newest DVR offered by Cox by Cisco had an HD guide. The only issue is the HD Guide doesn't fill the entire screen, but a good step forward. Also the older SA dvr boxes (some models) but those DVR boxes are pretty outdated.
I recently returned to Cable from Dish, but only because I couldn't sign a two year contract yet.. I am on Cox and i have the Cisco HD box which is decent, but nothing compared to the Hopper system I had. The issue with Cox here is we don't even have an HD TV guide, and the Mpeg 2 HD offered the...
Cox service here in Gainesville FL our Cox TV Guide is in SD format which is a headache to look at on an HD TV. Any cities served by Cox have an HD TV Guide? I would imagine the big cities that Cox serves have an HD TV Guide?
I got the newest HD box from COX (non DVR)..
Cisco HD Plus model 4650HDC doesn't cost any more to add it to your account when swapping the older HD boxes out. The new box has an internet port which I haven't tried yet. The PQ seems better on the newest box The older box had a lot of snow, but...
The second time I called I finally got my wish granted with getting Cox to match Direct TV for the TV service. Also got the internet upgraded for free from 18mbps to 28mbps all for six months. Took a lot of hassle with Cox, but someone at Cox cared to earn my business.
I chatted with two Cox sales reps, and then called Cox, to discuss getting TV service at a decent price with a good deal. I had already priced out Direct, and Dish who were both $25 dollars cheaper with there price including the receiver fees. I tell this to Cox as there bundle with Internet...
Cox
Nice channels additions. I found Cox to be too expensive at least in Gainesville FL after Cox added a bunch of new HD channels as to the price hike.
After coming back to Cox after 10yrs, and using them for one year!! It was time to go back to Dish. The black outs on the new HD channels are annoying, the Micro blocking like a scratched DVD are annoying, and then the nice price hike made Cox too expensive for the offerings.
Being a 10yr Dish...
Cox cable Gainesville FL is increasing the prices on Digital cable, & Internet, to offset the additional HD channels recently added last month.
The new prices are listed on the website.
Has Cox started turning off Analog channels in any Cox served markets yet?
Hopefully Cox will follow Cablevision, and Comcast in turning off the Analog Channels to free up space for Digital Channels / Programming.
Knowing Cox they will be last ones to do this.
Cox Gainesville FL is adding 15 more HD channels on March 26th 2009.
The 15 new HD channels coming are(HDPPV,FX,E!,Spike,VH1,MTV,Fox News,Nick, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, CMT, Travel, Speed, HGTV, MLB).
A price increase may be coming as well!!
Nice to know that cox lives up to the name in other cities.. :D Interesting here once Dish / Direct addes HD locals, and more so when Uverse comes to town.
*** Gainesville Florida Cox ***
Over the weekend, I got a chance to have a 45 minute face to face chat with a COX Tech.
First off I asked Cox when they would switch over to MPEG 4 Receivers (like Comcast is in the process of doing). Cox said no chance of that happening because the cost is...
No, not far away to get them.. Actually did do the OTA stuff for about two years with an Attic installed Antenna. Got all of the channels most of the time, but had a lot of multi-path issues.
Now I'll just wait for Dish or Direct to get my locals in HD. (Unless COX has a price increase)...
Cox
When I was getting Cox installed after 12 years the contractor for Cox who runs the new lines almost got sued by Dish Network because the contractor ran the new COX line to Dish Network's Box (where everything for Dish Network comes together). This after I told Cox the day before that all...
Well at least here as soon as either Direct TV or Dish Network upload the Gainesville HD channels then Cox will start bleeding here. Once both or one of those providers have the local channels in HD there is no point having Cox for TV service as they provide nothing here that the other two...
