Looking for a C band dish

I placed an ad in the free classified ads section of the local rural electric cooperative newsletter here in the upper midwest. I received 4-5 calls which resulted in two 10' mesh dishes for $40 each.

    Identify this dish

I need help identifying a dish also. I have only one photo of it and don't know the size. All I know is that it's free for the taking. Thanks.

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

I offered $50 for a ten foot orbitron on CL. Owner replied saying it was worth $2900 in scrap value alone. A week or two later I was told some guy had offered near $1000 for it. Long story short - I got it for $50. I imagine no one else showed interest. It might be worth to keep in touch with...

You could replace the accordian boot with an old bicycle inner tube and band clamps.

Kijiji, eBay, and Craigslist dishes for you to take a look at

This one is 160 miles away from me. That's 5 hours on the road. Dang, just too far. The posting mentioned no mounting - just the ribs? I think that would make it difficult to assemble and get up and running.

Accuracy of an old 7' steel dish

I'm guessing by the photo the supports are bent - not sure. Trying to contact the owner now. And with the peeling paint, wouldn't it be rusted all to hell if it were steel?

Accuracy of an old 7' steel dish

Owner says it's a steel dish, but it's got alotta peeling paint. Maybe it's aluminum. And by theory alone it would outperform a 1.2m due to a larger size.

Accuracy of an old 7' steel dish

I have to chance to acquire an old 7'prime focus steel dish - probably made 30 yrs ago. It still has the handcrank attached. Just wondering if anyone has experience with a similar dish and how well it works for ku for example. Would it outperform a 1.2m which seem to be popular? I'm also...

    Unimesh dish

Fat Air - Thx for the reply. I've seen photos of whole dishes being moved with antenna facing up resting on top of a tire, etc. But the trip is 75 miles one way and I'm only one guy so disassembly is the only option. You mentioned the base and 3 bolts for plumbing the post - does that suggest...

    Unimesh dish

I'm a novice who has questions about a possible unimesh dish. Are these two images photos of a 10' unimesh dish? I'm about to pickup this free antenna and the owner was unsure of size and manufacturer. And if it's a ten-footer - would the four sections (after disassembly) fit on a 4' x 7'...

I assumed the vbox7 is a chinese-made POS, not made by same manufacturer of previous box. Thanks for the replies. Dont rack your brain - I can live with the inconvenience.

    Actuator Losing Count

Similar problem here. Had been using vbox6 to move dish for 5 yrs. After stormy weather this summer - vbox and 22khz switch wasnt working. I assumed lightning in the area. Bought a vbox7 off the bay - but counter wasnt constant. I wasnt using USAL, just counter and manually moved dish with...
