24" Von Weise actuator only extends 12"

When I bought a house with a Cband dish in '97, it had a nylon nut included in the deal (because the original nut had failed) so I installed it and got the dish running for 5 years until the motor on the mover died. At the time I was looking for motors the nut was still available. I still have...

24" Von Weise actuator only extends 12"

Cham, if you have a ball screw actuator is the best type of mover. They last and last and last. 20 years of use and they still work. Pull it apart, check grease or oil and mount it up. Sent from my P00A using the SatelliteGuys app!

Motorized C-band with 2nd lnbf for circular?

I've never used one but I have a ku dish with a circular lnbf tie strapped to my standard lnbf on my 90cm. I can get from 61w to 129w on my side mounted circular lnbf. I'm at about 89.2w. I think you will get 40.5 with that bracket and another lnbf. Sent from my LG-M153 using the...

    DIY C-band dish

A corotor feed has a small motor that turns the probe in the feed horn to switch to horizontal or vertical polarity. If you decide to switch to a titanium lnbf you replace the feedhorn and corotor and lnb with the lnbf. It will then use voltage to switch between horizontal and vertical polarity.

    sts-mbs-sr-70mhz

If it controls the dish movement it could still be used to position the dish, since new digital receivers do not move a c band dish. New receivers require a separate box to move a BUD.

While waiting for my 90cm dish....

I got a few channels on my 90cm dish when I tried last summer, using a titanium c band lnbf with a conical scaler. I remember that there was a strong signal on 97w , but I don't remember the channel name.

What stuff did you watch on the big dish back then?

I used to watch Nascar on the feeds with no commercials, all the NFL feeds, and Star Trek Voyager several days before it aired on TV. I miss my cband dish. Sent from my RCT6573W23 using the SatelliteGuys app!

    Newbie that needs help

While the receiver is outdated it will work with some channels. Are you sure a 25 foot dish? Wow I am jealous. Where about are you? It would help to give you an idea of where to point you dish. A new receiver will get you a lot more channels, since most channels are in HD now. Sent...

    replacement actuator motors

I was reading a few years ago that when using c band actuators they would build a small circuit to drive the motor made out of LEDs. They would have 2 (sometimes 4 if the dish was an az/el mount with 2 motors) LEDs that was set to move towards east or west depending on which led was gathering...

I would recommend a Titanium PLL lnbf. I have one and I can get some C band on my 90cm dish. A PLL lnbf helps with marginal signals. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using the SatelliteGuys app!

Help me start my satellite farm

Pull off the nose cone and take a picture of the lnb. You might be able to use the existing ones. As far as pointing I only have a ku dish so I'm not sure where to point it, but 99w is a good satellite to start with on C band.

    Manhattan DJ-1997 recording????

It also works on my microHD and my Visionsat. I think any box that is a PVR can record the 4:2:2 signal for playback on a computer.

Anyone remember this from the Analog days???

I also set my dish up with Orbit magazine and the manual for my receiver. I got it with a house but the actuator was broken and I first had to fix that first. I found a manual for tvro in the local library after I was tracking the arc and had the receiver all programmed. This was years before...

    C-band dish size for DVB-S2/8PSK

I've got City TV and SLN on my 90cm dish before and they are DVB-S2 8PSK. They do have a 1/2 FEC though. Trying to get a high FEC signal that is DVB-S2 8PSK on a tiny dish just won't work.
