-Which is better v or g box

Can't say anything about the G-Box because I never had one. My first V box overheated and burned up. Literally, caught on fire after in use for over a year, I think the cause was a short in the power transformer. My second one has been in use for over a year and I have no problems. I'm using...

    help for a complete novice

Look in the C-Band discussion area for tutorials. What you described is a C-Band LNB Coaxial and the three 16-3 wires are for the servo to control the polarity. The activator 12 gauge is to move the dish and the other 16 are for the sensors

    Ku on a 8-footer

I would go one step further. Go straight to Ku side without any switches until you can lock in

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

Shankle I agree with stanleyjohn. I have a Vbox. I had a Uniden which moved the dish as well as the polarity. When it gave up the ghost I went with the V-Box but it could only move the not the polarity. I had to get a new LBN as well

    Vbox X Hiccup

nicknjen - Just got my AZbox and this is what I noticed when trying to move the C Dish thru the Vbox. Moves two clicks when changing channels. Haven't really try to set the unit up properly I'm been just trying to learn it. Switched from a Pansat 9200HD

    Automated positioner systems

I use a Pansat 9200 through a V-Box. An inexpensive way is to relabel the channels (or beacon) you receive from a satellite as the satellite itself. For instance, edit WVGN as G17 or 99D whatever it is located; WGN as AMC3 or 87W etc

    Who invented the mesh dish?

I was in the Army in '60 and we had mesh dishes for microwave (4-5Ghz) radio relay sites. Rule of thumb was as long as the hole wasn't bigger than 1/10 of the wavelength it would reflect.

    Who invented the mesh dish?

You might have to do research in the microwave field or do you mean only for sats?

Fine Tuning A Mesh Dish - Would it be Worth It?

Am curious how do you set the angles to a decimal point? I must use the wrong type of equipment because I'm happy just getting down within a degree.

Neighbor may want me to move BUD

I noticed that when they survey property nearby they hammer in iron pipes at the corners. Don't know the custom where you live. I agree that you should try to be neighborly. Who benefits

How common are BUD's in your area?

Slowly disappearing. I live in town (pop. 1000). I have an eight and half with 2 Dish. Cable and Dish/DirectTV have been making in roads

Victim Of The Dreaded HOA Today!

Sorry about losing your 10 footer. I can see the HOA rules when everyone is jammed together but that looks like a lot of property. A shame.

    Why doesn't this work?

Tough to answer. Is it a wire or is it a coaxial cable? To my BUD I have two coaxial cables and six wires bundled together. The coaxs are for C and K Band LNBs and the wires are for motor, sensors and polarity
