One post mentioned putting a spacer on ku part to have a closer focal point, another post mentioned ku lnb can turn inside and get off centered. So I removed lnb and looked to modify...

First time setting up a Coolsat 6000

Hook directly in back of coolsat while testing. then I would rotate lnbf to seven o'clock position. I use a small tv and coolsat and monitor signal strength as changes are made. Also end of Lnbf is usually closed to even or recessed a little with front of scaler ring.

A Suggestion would be Install DiSEqC Switches In your weatherproof box, it will avoid splices of coaxial cables. This is something that is needed if a decision to add other dishes, you could then connect them to DiSEqC Switches at your box. I assume you are going to use BUD with FTA Receiver.

My farm is yawn with out my BUD working right

You can remove the blue motor and and see if lnb is turning freely inside. What I have done also is turn motor in blue box manually making sure it is not turned all the way in one direction. Then reconnect and check. If nothing else works you can hook up blue motor directly to back of receiver...

    Why doesn't this work?

If The motor was ever removed from arm and then it was moved, it would cause this problem. Usually G10 is set to 5000 when new install is made. You could remove motor and move to 5000. Then manually move dish to G10 and then reinstall motor. Reset settings making 5000 home for for g10.
