Should you use a grounded power supply on a DECA?

There are no "ground" wires in Ethernet as it employs current loop technology rather than a signal .vs. ground configuration. It is pretty rare to find anything less than enterprise-grade networking gear that fully supports shield grounding and that would demand properly terminated shielded...

EchoStar/Dish raises doubts about 'ability to continue as a going concern'

Again, LA, Boston and Charleston are metro areas, Dish still has to get those done, which probably will bring them extremely close to 75%.

Should you use a grounded power supply on a DECA?

A few weeks ago, a blog reader reached out to me to ask if there was a grounded power supply for the DECAs that we sell. A DECA, in case you’re not familiar, is a device that bridges the coaxial cable network used by DIRECTV and others with an Ethernet network. It’s a common part of practically...

    Spring Cleaning?

How about combining some of the DirecTV Forums, for example the General Forum has not had a new post since last Saturday, programing yesterday, Tech Wednesday and Cutting Edge November 1, 2023. Dish only has 1, which seems to keep it more active.

    Spring Cleaning?

Sounds good to me. I guess it’s a bit premature to start a Quantum Computing and Effects forum. :oldlaugh

That's what works for me. Aim in the general direction using info from Dishpointer website, blind scan once I get a 'hit' with my meter then compare to known frequencies in the charts. Adjust dish as needed. ;)

Team, Am I correct in assuming matching transponders scanned in to satellite charts is the best way to know which satellite I’m aimed at?

This silent problem could be killing your marine satellite TV system

OK, so much for the clickbait headline. You have to do something in order to get Google to notice you sometimes. As they say, don’t blame the player, blame the game. If you have a satellite television system on your boat, chances are it’s over 5 years old. In some cases it could be much older...

FUN FRIDAY: Video Games that turn into movies and TV shows

I got to thinking the other day about the idea of video games that turn into movies and TV shows. It’s no surprise, since I’m finally getting around to watching the Fallout series on Prime Video. But this isn’t really an article about that. That sort of article would be more appropriate for my...

Can you use one cell booster for two buildings?

Do you have great cell signal at work? Do you have to go outside to take a call? Do your friends or kids tell you they tried to text you and it didn’t go through? Up to 90% of people experience bad cell service every day. Are you one of them? Cell boosters for business: It’s the next wave I’ve...

Apple Event - May 7, 2024 (New iPads!)

Yeah, at 57, eyes have been getting worse, been wearing progressives since my late 40’s, prescription was bad enough for being near sighted, now with Astigmatism also, plus needing the thinner lenses because my prescription was so high, just spent about $1200 on two pairs last month.

Apple Event - May 7, 2024 (New iPads!)

I've always used the smaller one until this upgrade, but as the bezels have shrunk and shrunk there isn't as much of a difference holding the two today as their use to be. Plus as more and more publications are "digital only" and my eyes are getting older the extra screen real estate makes it...

I could never go back to the smaller size, I believe my daughter’s is 10.9” (found out she has a Air, not the basic), looks tiny compared to mine. Typing is also better on the larger, different keyboard pops up then what is on the smaller ones.

    How things have changed

Already happening and will continue to grow. For example, just announced, the new Frasier series on P+ will be on CBS almost a year later. As I have posted before, the big plan is premiere on the paid streaming service, then on the Broadcast/Cable Channels ( also paid by per sub fees) months...
