Anybody know how much bandwidth typical Cable Co provides?

I know in the old PC networking days, coax networking was generally 10mbit. I know that cable TV companies are pushing MUCH more than that, but how much? I am really asking about the TV portion, not internet, but a total is cool too.

Anybody know what a typical cable companies cable bandwidth is?

Using QAM256 modulation, a 6 Mhz channel gives you 38 Mbps. This is typically enough to transmit two pristine HDTV channels. However, the three cable companies in my area are transmitting three HDTV channels per channel for something less than 13Mbs per HDTV channel. Most cable companies are built to 750-860 Mhz at the headend.

The Cable pundits are working on QAM1024 modulation, which will make even better use of the available cable spectrum. Plus, there are a number of overlay technologies emerging that will make the physical plant pretty irrelevant - there's one company touting a package that will upgrade cablesystems, relatively cheaply, to 3 Ghz.
