I scored a 10foot mesh cband dish. I picked it up last week. I just got a 10 foot pole this morning and a bunch of cement. I am hoping to get it in the ground this week. Wish me luck.. Ill post pictures once i get it mounted.

Sounds Great!! Yep gotta post tons of pics!

Pole in and concrete'd. Nice and plumb.

o Dug a 1 foot 5 foot deep hole.
o Dug a 3'x3'x1.5' foot pad.
o Filled main hole, and then filled pad 4 inches deep with rebar.
o Two rebar vertical bent 90 degrees to turn into pad.
o Also filled the pipe with concrete.

Well, i have pulled in my first signal on the 10 footer. I have locked in Galaxy17 @ 91 degrees. I have found 'The Word', 'Word Net' and 'Classic Arts'. My search on satbeams has me fairly sure I am parked at 91. Ofcourse, top of arc for me is 89 - Galaxy28. So, i am close. I have come in for a break. It's 44 degrees and a bit drizzly.

Question : to get motor at top of arc, do i just eye it and move the motor back and forth until i believe i got the dish at top of arc?

More pics.

89W has three channels that I pick up, but not sure any of them are 24hrs a day?

89.0 West Galaxy 28
H-3860 3/4 30.000 4801 4802 SBN (Jimmy Swaggart)
V-4004 3/4 06.111 1260 1220 CBN - HD feeds
V-4013 3/4 06.111 1160 1120 CBN - SD feeds
I have received CBN at 7am PST once in a while, and is a very high quality picture when it is on.

Since you have 91W, you might try peaking the LNBF on the weakest Transponder there, before attempting to fine tune the arc, by moving the whole polar mount? Picture is pretty dark, but looks like the LNBF is set too deep?

o LNBF too deep... Please explain further.... Not sure i follow...
o Wouldn't i want to make sure I'm at top of Arc being if i peak off another satellite, being the twist of the whole satellite on the mount is not quite set, and i want to make sure the polar is centered at top of arc.

I could be wrong... But the idea is if you set the LNBF wrong and it is not peaked, then trying to peak the polar mount on the arc is an effort in futulity. I cannot tell from the pictures, but did you measure the focal length to a 1/4" inside the LNBF?

If 89W is your due South, then peak on the 3860 transponder, unless someone else has a better solution. I'm using a 10ft mesh and MicroHD as a reference. It comes in fine.

Okay, i calculated a 41 as what the setting of focal depth for the scaler ring on the LNB. Ill check that tomorrow.

Okay, can use a little help. I am peaking and i am getting like a 80/80 sig/quality. BUT..... the quality jumps ALL over the place. Its jumping from about 50-80 and keeps grabbing and loosing lock?? I'm using Titaniums cband PLL LNB. If i move the dish any which way, the high end of the quality goes down?? Any thoughts?

For example, 99 degrees KCWY13 at 3776 H 3255 I have a level of 90 and the quality is jumping a little between 60 and 71, but it keeps breaking up the audio, and pixelating...
