Changing 311k out to 322 - New DPP LNBF on its way

Okay, last December replaced 301 with 311k courtesy of Dish Network. Grandkids are coming and want to put a different TV in their bedroom for the summer so I can watch one program and they can watch another. I understand this will be on sat 110 or 119.
Purchased a 322 from a private party, got it cleared to go (authorization)and with the 322 hooked up to my current Dish 500 with DP dual feed and through RG6 I am getting 015(signal lost) and 004's(channel lost). I am receiving a few channels, so I purchased a new DPP dual feed LNBF that will be here this coming week.
Here's my question.
Once I install the Dish Pro Plus LNBF and remove the Dish Pro LNBF, hopefully will that take care of my problem of not receiving almost all of my channels except a few?
As a side note, currently I reinstalled the 311k in our home and it work's perfect. So we are watching it now and this week, when the new LNB shows up I will switch it and see if the 311k is still okay. If it is okay, then I will try again the 322. I have the Dish Network separator to install on the back of the 322 (sat1 and sat2) and I understand to hook the single coax at the lnb to port 1 (110) although they said it didn't make any difference.

correct. You need either a DPP LNB and the separator or you could have just run 2 lines from the existing LNB to the 322. You CANT use the separator with a DishPro LNB (what you originally had on there)

correct. So are you going to use BOTH the 322 and the 311k?
And it doesnt matter which port on the LNB to use. Just run the check switch and you'll be fine

Okay ...success....received the new Dish Pro Plus LNB and switched it out on the outside home dish 500. The old dish pro had two inputs both white in color, the new DPP had 2 blues and an additional output which I don't use. Went inside the house and powered up the 311k that was already hooked up and received all programming, no problems.
Switched receiver inputs and outputs to the 322 I just bought and installed the Dish Network separator to the one coax feed coming in the house. Powered up, acquired signal and then loaded program guide...and the 322 is working properly, all subscribed channels are coming in. So the culprit in getting the 322 to work originally was the old Dish Pro LNB.
So the 322 stays in the house now and later I can coax to the spare bedroom and have alternative programming for the kids and wife and I can watch what we want on the living room big screen.
The 311k will go out in our RV and that I am working on now. I will pull the RV out of the barn this Friday and try to have success with the 311k in the RV.
THank you everyone!

Now I am trying to program the UHF remote in the RV and getting code 590. The Dish Network receiver 311k is out in the RV now and I thought I would spend some time seeing if I could program the UHF remote. I have installed the remote UHF antenna and there is no UHF/IR switch on the back of the receiver so this is a work in progress..getting late..may hit the sack

Check switch. Menu 6-1-1...then "check switch"....The receiver will run through this and most likely then download the latest software update. 10 mins, tops

I don't have it front of me right now. But basically "the remote address you are trying to use is already being used. Choose another address."
But when I am at system info it will highlight the tab but will not let me change the numerical channel number. I just got off CHAT with dish and the CSR said only push Sat and then record. That did not work either. The tab I have showing under system info still shows IR and remote address 1 and channel out 3. But again it won't let me change the code. MY 21.1 remote control I have the switch in the battery compartment moved to UHF.
Found it:

ERROR You are attempting to set both remotes to the same address. You are not allowed to do this. Please select another remote address for one of the two remote addresses

Use code 11 or 13, and see if that makes a different. If tv1 and tv2 have the same address or same band(I beleive) it will give that pop up. 13 will be uncommon for both.

Tried 11 and 13 and 9, to no avail. I am on menu 6-1-8 which is UHF pro remote setup(or I can go to system info on the menu and access the same page), enabled, then system info, then highlight box i "address" and that is as far as I can get. Every time a try a different code and push record it goes to the error code 590. The i box in system info only shows one remote not tv1, no tv2 box, by the way. On our 322 receiver in the house, system infor shows box i and box j for tv1 and tv2. (tv2 shows UHF)
The uhf remote wire antenna is on, tight and upright within 5-8 ft of my attempts. Also the chat feature on Dish Network, I was told by a CSR that the 311k would support an UHF remote and I told them I have the 21.1 remote with the 311k receiver. They said it was doable.
On my RV tv looking at "System info" box i which is remote address, it still says IR and I can highlight the address portion but that is as far as I get. If there is some secret in getting the address portion to change to "UHF", I could probably enter the correct code and save it . But every number (code) I have tried sends me the error prompt 590 (can't use same address)..
I will do more searching on the net to see if I can bring this to a conclusion.
Thanks so far for the inpu
By the way, Dish has been replacing the old 301 SD receivers with these 311k's and someone else may want a UHF remote instead of the IR, so somewhere this topic is being covered.

Just stumbled on a site that talks about the different keys in the bottom of the remote. And on eBay a guy is selling an assortment of these for $4. This may be my problem, wrong key in my UHF remote and it won't open the address on the system info screen.

Well I just spent several hours in the RV with the Dish Network 311k receiver and my Kingdome 9702. (stationary dome rooftop satellite). It's approx 12 years old and worked before with the DN 301 receiver.
Today, I never could acquire signal, searching and searching. In the beginning when I started it was in the same position as it was the other day with the DN 322 installed and I received a few channels, maybe 6-8. But today with the 311k reinstalled in the RV it would not acquire and posted 015 trouble codes.
I believe what is going on is the newer technology or updated if you will is NOT paring well with my old satellite dome and lnb. As I posted above, I changed out the HOUSE lnb to a DPP LNB from a Dish Pro and my 322 that I just bought is working beautifully.
At this point there is a specialist tech in Sacramento that I may have to have fix my problem, that probably will entail a new satellite antenna ($1200 for a trav'ler for dish)
I will try once more to use the 311k next week where I know the RV will have a clear shot at the south and the weather should be mild and then report back here.

Try this. Unplug the coax from 311k and run check switch. Save matrix. Then run test again with cable plugged back in. Does the test go from 1-4, 1-38, does it try to run on both tuners, are there different results? The 311k is a 322 with the tv2 output disabled. That's all.

Today when I ran the check switch the coax was hooked up and the test showed both tuners 1-38...which I thought was kinda odd being the 311k is 322 with tv2 disabled. The first tuner finished first and the second tuner took forever, so I cancelled and went back to 6-1-1 to see if I could locate a signal.
I may have to put this on hold till next Tues but I promise I will report results..
also my dome satellite is a single lnb, so we either watch 110 or 119, so today I was moving back and forth on system info to see if I could catch either sat......not
thanks again for your input

If it is a legacy switch, which most domes are... It will go through 38, and tuner one going through quicker is normal.

It almost noon here in Ca. I've decided to get the RV out and give it a go again to see if I can lock onto 110 or 119. I will follow your instructions and try undoing the coax and running a check switch and then hooked up noting the results. If in fact it is a legacy switch am I doomed with the 311k? Which will force me to get a 211k or invest in a new satellite. The other day I received a few channels on the 322 when it was in the RV and previous I could get all channels with the 301. So is the tech diff in the 311k (detuned 322) vs the 301?
I'll report back later today..

The legacy switch should work on the 311k(when I say legacy switch, that is just what the dome says it is using, not necessarily what it is using).

Back in the house now for a few minutes from the RV...ran check switch unplugged and plugged...now I am getting tv1 1-1 and tv2 1-1 (WT?)....ran system info status 100%...red box for 119 and 110. Just for fun I hooked aux coax from satellite to receiver tv2 (main coax is on tv1) to see if that made any difference. Didn't..
Next step is to remove cover from dome (Phillips screws) and actuate search feature inside RV and run outside and observe the satellite moving and searching. Also looking for possible corrosion on fittings or damage underneath dome. Or if something has come apart from driving over our fine highways here in Cali..:coco
Back later

Wow..this thread is getting way tooo long.
Remove 6 phillips screws from dome cover to reveal the "actual" guts. What I expected, nothing visual amiss, had my wife hit the search feature inside the RV and I watched the dish and single lnb search. Couldn't really determine brand name or value of the LNB.
Actually moves fast and then slows when it picks up signal and also elevation adjustment is working trying to fine tune reception. The only thing was one of the coax fittings (2) took a 1/4 turn or more to finger tighten. Didn't make a difference.
The satellite seems to lock on a satellite more towards the southeast and slightly up in elevation than our house 500 dish, but it's not 110 or 119. But I am guessing as I do not have a compass or satellite finder meter.
We are in the foothills now and later this week when I am in the valley where we have clear line of site south I will try again. I did learn you only have to hit the search button once, not repeatedly. Because now I have witnessed what's going on under the cover. I wonder if my smart phone has an app for satellite detection?
So I am now done for the day, everything put up, buttoned up, back to normal. As a consolation, I do have DVD and VCR in the RV, if I can't beat this next Tuesday down in the valley.
Again I ran check switch unplugged and plugged...still getting tv1 1-1 and tv2 1-1 ....again ran system info status 100%...red box for 119 and 110. Unhooked aux coax from satellite to receiver tv2 (main coax is still on tv1)
Lastly, obviously the house dish is somewhat larger and has dual feed, the RV is half of a dish and who knows how strong the lnb is to pull signal. Conditions for domes have to be near perfect in my estimation.
