Dish/Capital Broadcasting Dispute (Resolved)

This will affect me as it is our local CBS (WRAL) and our local FOX (WRAZ). They are by far he most watched locals in our house. Luckily they are also the strongest OTA signal, but it would suck to lose guide data.

This is what's scrolling across the bottom of the pic while watching the Colts/Cowboys game.

In our 58 year history, no Capitol Broadcasting station has ever gone off the air because of a business negotiation.
Unfortunately, a recent DISH negotiation resulted in a monthlong forced blackout of these cable networks:
CNN, Cartoon Network, TCM, TruTV, HLN, Adult Swim, CNN en Espanol and Boomerang.

This is nothing new for DISH.
You remember last year, your local NBC station in Raleigh was off the air on DISH for more than 6 weeks.

Guess who Dish is picking on? They get free coverage to viewers who can't get the signal over the air... and want to be paid for the service they are receiving from Dish.

Lol... I actually did go into chat. They offered $5/mo for 6 months. I told them that with AT250 I give them a ton of cash for channels I don't watch and they counter that the channels I actually do watch the most (Capitol Broadcasting has my CBS AND FOX) was only worth $5/mo? They said that was the best they could do and I declined. Unfortunately I am under contract until 5/2016 so they have me for awhile, but I will definitely consider the packages I am paying for... To his credit he gave me an 800 number to call that might be able to assist me better, stating he would note my account so I wouldn't have to explain myself again from the beginning, so who knows...

Still out with no word of any impending agreement. The wife is starting to get annoyed as most if the shows we watch, including our morning and evening news, are on both of these channels. Yes we have OTA but it is not perfect with occasional dropouts and the lack of guide data sucks. The grumbling is getting louder in my house.....

Why did you decline the deal? It isn't as if they extend your commitment. It isn't great, but it is something.
Actually, it's a better offer than many received over Fox News. I agree, if he's stuck in, and plans to abide by his contract, that's just free money.

Call the number you were given. I did and received a better offer. That number is for account specialists.
