Check for broken motor brush leads.

Bought one for the test bench and without any load, the unit failed within 6 months. The braided lead wire to one of the brushes must have vibrated so bad that it broke in the middle (not near solder). Installed new braid and a month later the other braided lead broke in the middle.

so far so good

the only think i have to make a adapter for the 3.50od pole to fit the 3.125id of the mount

but i think it should be strong by next week

When I bought one a few years back, I did the same thing. If you have a standard door it will fit just fine assembled right though the door. :)

A few years ago I bought that $69 WSI special which this looks a LOT like.
It was cold and rainy outside so I thought I would be really clever and assemble the dish in my kitchen. BAD IDEA. I bent it and warped it in ways that it never recovered from.
Be really careful. I would suggest assembly outside.

I had help carrying it out.

While I still have the dish in the house, I completed the string tests and all is good. I also measured diameter and depth.

Factory specs are
Focal Length = 26.85 inches (~26 7/8'')
FD Ratio = .38

My calculations: (Measured Diameter 5'11'')
Focal Length = ~27 7/16 inches
FD Ratio = .385
I assembled the support arms, scalar and C2PLL.
So I set the Titanium C2PLL FD to .38 and the measurement up to the opening of the feed horn (not inside it) is 28 1/4 ''.
That is way off from the factory specs!

Does anyone have some real world measurements of focal length after tweaking to a signal on this dish?

There is room to drill another hole on the arms to shorten focal length.

Batzzz19 what are your findings?
