NEW YORK– 21st Century Fox (NASDAQ: FOX, FOXA; ASX: FOX, FOXLV) today announced an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network (YES Network), raising its ownership position in the regional sports network to 80 percent from the current 49 percent it acquired in 2012.

I actually think it would increase the chances of being on Dish.It certainly couldn't hurt lol.

Nope FOX and DISH are fighting like cats and dogs because of the Hopper, in fact FOX just removed Sports Time Ohio from DISH and I hear they are not talking. This is one of many sports channels FOX withholding from DISH.

True but...How long has it been since Yes has been on Dish?I guess we could call it a status quo.So needless to say the negotiations weren't going so well to begin with.:D

So what does this mean for branding of the network. Will we still see the Yes graphics and music package or will that get rolled into the generic Fox sports look.

I haven't seen YES all that often, but when I do have a chance, its obvious how much different it is from most others.

I would HOPE they keep the YES format and equipment .... but I have a feeling that Fox will bring in thier own and make it FOXNY and Yes will be a lost brand.

The only saving grace I can see is that the Yankee still own 20% so they might still have some creative control. The whole appeal of Yes is that it is the Yankees network, I don't see them giving that up to easily.

The one Fox implementation I would like is the wide screen presentation.

If Fox is after regional sports networks I could see NESN being their next target.

FOX IS the RSN s for the most part already, yes I can see them going for NESN eventually as well.

It isn't widescreen now?

I don't doubt you, but I don't remember it that way. I thought they moved the on screen scoreboard to the upper left corner.
