Fox to Revive: 24, X-Files and Prison Break.

There's more '24' in the works at Fox http://finance.yahoo.com/news/theres-more-24-works-fox-193300659.html
You may not have seen the last of Jack Bauer.Fox is apparently working on a new adventure for the indestructible spy played by Kiefer Sutherland."We have been developing another version of '24' but it's still fairly early in the development process," Fox's co-CEO and co-chairman Gary Newman told reporters on a call Monday. "There's really nothing we can tell you at this time other than we are working on something."It's unclear whether the network is planning another run of episodes or a TV movie, such as the one that aired between the sixth and seventh seasons of the show in 2008.The last installment of "24" aired over 12 episodes during Spring 2014 on Fox. Considered the show's ninth season, "Live Another Day" took place four years after Season 8. We met Jack Bauer as he was tracking the activities of Counter Terrorist Unit analyst Chloe O'Brian's (Mary Lynn Rajskub) group while living in exile. Jack resurfaces when he hears of an imminent attempt on now President James Heller's (William Devane) life."Live Another Day" did moderately well for Fox, earning an average 1.8 rating with Adults aged 18-49, the demographic most sought after by advertisers, and 6.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen.New chapter or not, "24" was already acknowledged as the longest-running espionage-themed TV series ever after its eighth season, surpassing "Mission Impossible," "The Avengers" and "Alias."

'24' Will Go On… But Without Jack Bauer?!? https://www.yahoo.com/tv/24-reboot-jack-bauer-118970462735.html
When last we saw Jack Bauer, in the finale of 24: Live Another Day, he was being helicoptered off to Moscow by some vengeance-minded Russians who wanted to seriously harm, then kill him. Did they carry through on their nefarious plan? Could Jack Bauer, the fictional character so heroic he almost makes the real world seem safer when he’s on our TV screens, really be dead?Sadly, it may be so. At least for now.24 executive producer Howard Gordon tells Yahoo TV that a script for another iteration of the real-time drama is currently being written by Emmy-winning 24 writers Evan Katz and Manny Coto, and — shockingly — does not include Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer spending another day of his life saving the world from evildoers. “Evan and Manny are writing a script right now, which, for the moment is a Jack-less 24,” says Gordon, an executive producer and writer on 24 since it debuted in 2001.“The possibility is always there for Jack… There’s an open door, basically, but I think both Kiefer and we, I think correctly, felt that this character needed a little bit of a break. We really believe that real-time concept is just a really cool narrative engine, so they’re telling a story, Evan and Manny, that I think is in the tradition of 24.”

Executive producer confirmed Jack Bauer will be making cameos.... Be kinda cool if the first "reboot" season deals with busting Jack out of Russia.

Fox reveals details on 24 spinoff that are really disappointing.....We had high hopes for Fox's 24 spinoff, but those may have all just been shattered http://www.sheknows.com/entertainme...s-on-24-spinoff-that-are-really-disappointing
Fox fans still waiting for a Kate Morgan-centric 24 spinoff, prepare to be disappointed. The network has decided 24 just wouldn't be 24 if it wasn't about a man who breaks all the rules and looks surly while doing so.Now that Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) has finally completed his last marathon mission, Fox is in the market for a new young action hero to pick up the 24 torch. 24 creator Howard Gordon confirmed to TV Line that a 24 spinoff is in the works, but fans who were hoping any future adventures would focus on the butt-kicking prowess of 24: Live Another Day's breakout character, Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski), should prepare to be disappointed. The new spinoff will look a whole lot like Jack Bauer's early years as it follows a new, never-before-seen male agent who picks up where Jack left off.

’24’ Spinoff In Development With New Male Lead; Jack Bauer May Guest Star http://screenrant.com/24-tv-show-spinoff-jack-bauer/
The Summer 2014 revivalt miniseries 24: Live Another Day – which, in typical 24 fashion, ended on a life-threatening cliffhanger for our protagonist – left many to wonder if Jack Bauer would survive for ‘another day’ again. The consistently high ratings and mostly positive critical responses have pointed towards the show restarting the clock by way of either a solo film or another offshoot followup season down the line.Question is, would Kiefer Sutherland return for a tenth time? The answer to that lingering question is yes…and no, based on a new report concerning a 24 TV show spinoff being in the pipeline.TVLine is reporting that Fox has a 24 spinoff (read: not a tenth season) in development – one that will maintain the signature “real-time” format and follow a new, less-seasoned male terrorist hunter in his twenties. However, the show will not be entirely without Sutherland’s Jack as originally expected; instead, the fan-favorite series veteran could appear as a guest star in a number of episodes. That said, the easiest way to weave Jack into the new storyline would obviously be placing him in a mentor-like role to the rookie antihero. 24, however, has never been known to take the easy route. Franchise overlord Howard Gordon confirmed at the Critics Choice Television Awards on Sunday that the project would find the new protagonist working alongside an older, more seasoned female agent – and not Yvonne Strahovski’s Kate Morgan, although she may appear in a recurring guest role as well.

Prison Break Limited Series In Development at Fox https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/prison-break-limited-series-development-204541359.html
Prison Break may be getting sprung from television purgatory.Fox is developing a limited-series revival of its 2005-09 drama series that would re-team stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, TVLine has learned exclusively. Details are sketchy, but I hear the reunion project — if it happens — would be similar to last year’s 24: Live Another Day in that it would span a dozen or so episodes and feature a closed-ended storyline.Earlier this year, Miller — who reunited with former TV bro Purcell this past season on The CW’s The Flash — told E! News that he “floated the idea” of a Prison Break continuation to Fox and “they seemed to think there was something there.” Fox co-chairman Gary Newman acknowledged at the Television Critics Assoc. press tour in January that Prison Break would make “the perfect event series,” but added that there were no current plans to bring the Fox River gang back together. In the meantime, Miller and Purcell are at least guaranteed to reunite for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, premiering midseason on The CW.Reps for Fox and 20th Century declined to comment.

Considering Schofield bit the dust in the last episode...dunno how they plan on pulling this off without insulting fans

Why the New ’24’ Spin-Off Will Not Be As Good as Before http://www.cheatsheet.com/entertain...-good-as-before.html/?a=viewall#ixzz3cPAsA9oc
24 is returning, but Jack Bauer will not. After months of speculation, it’s finally official: Fox is moving forward with its latest spin-off of the hugely popular action drama series without original star Kiefer Sutherland.Rumors of a potential follow-up to last summer’s spinoff miniseries, 24: Live Another Day, have been circulating since mid-January. While the possibility of another installment didn’t come as a huge surprise (the series finale of Live Another Day ended up drawing more viewers than the original 24’s official ending four years ago), it did raise some concerns from fans – especially since Sutherland had already made it clear that he didn’t plan on returning to the franchise. At the time, Fox Chairman and CEO Dana Walden addressed the question of the actor’s participation by saying, “We’re not talking about continuing the show without [Sutherland]. We’re talking about whether there’s one installment that he’s not in.”

Kiefer Sutherland On Jack Bauer’s Future: ’24: Live Another Day’ Awardsline Screening https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/kiefer-sutherland-jack-bauer-future-170553787.html
At Awardsline’s Thursday night Emmy screening of Fox miniseries 24: Live Another Day, Kiefer Sutherland aka Jack Bauer revealed that if he ever returned in another iteration of the TV series, it could possibly be in a cameo. But for now, he’s happy to see the franchise continue with fresh blood.

New 'The X-Files' Teaser Features Needles, Soldiers, Aliens(?) https://www.yahoo.com/tv/there-is-an-incredible-amount-of-buzz-surrounding-124303468540.html
There is an incredible amount of buzz surrounding the revival of The X-Files. The cult thriller starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson aired for nine seasons on FOX and after a 14 year hiatus (give or take two movies), it is set to return in January of 2016.During Thursday night’s episode of Wayward Pines, viewers were treated to a teaser for the upcoming X-Files season. While the promo was short, viewers caught a glimpse of some type of wreckage, armed soldiers, maybe some dead aliens, a syringe gun with a dozen needles, an “I want to believe” poster, and of course agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully carrying their ever-present flashlights. What does it all mean? Mark your calendars now, X-Philes: We’ve only got 6 more months to wait. The X-Files premieres January 24, 2016 at 10 p.m. on Fox.https://tv.yahoo.com/video/x-files-exciting-teaser-051210745.html

24 reboot will be a 'total reset' with new characters, no Jack Bauer http://www.ew.com/article/2015/08/06/24-reboot-details
A reboot of 24 is still in development, according to Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman, who offered an update to reporters during the network’s summer press tour.Manny Coto and Evan Katz are writing the script, with longtime 24 producer Howard Gordon supervising. Though the network hasn’t seen the script yet, Newman said it will center on a new character in the absence of of Jack Bauer. Not that they didn’t try.“Obviously we would love to have Kiefer [Sutherland] and we went to him first,” said Newman. “It isn’t something he wants to do at this point, but he encouraged us to continue and look for a way to bring the show back.” The network has been weighing the possibility of a Kiefer-less 24 since January. The familiar clock will be chiming once again in the new series, but as for familiar characters, Newman admitted, “Honestly I don’t know whether we’ll see any old characters or not. It would not surprise me if it’s a total reset in terms of the characters.”

Fox offers details on Prison Break event series http://www.ew.com/article/2015/08/06/fox-prison-break-event-series
Fox bosses Dana Walden and Gary Newman finally (and officially) confirmed they’re developing a Prison Break event series that will feature both Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller — despite the latter’s ultimate fate on the original show.“I would describe it as a bit of a sequel, it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show,” Fox Chairman and CEO Walden told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour. “The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience… It’ll start after where we left the Scofields in the final season.”Now the big question remains what that means for Michael Scofield (Miller), who died in the direct-to-video follow-up The Final Break. Though fellow Fox Chairman and CEO Newman initially said writer and original series creator Paul Scheuring would ignore the events of The Final Break, Walden backtracked. “I don’t think he’s going to completely ignore what happened in that episode, but what he pitched to us was a very logical and believable explanation in the world of Prison Break for why are character’s alive and still moving around the world.”

New, Jack Bauer-less 24 Season Could Be "Total Reset" for Characters https://games.yahoo.com/news/jack-bauer-less-24-season-221800037.html
This article, New, Jack Bauer-less 24 Season Could Be "Total Reset" for Characters, originally appeared on GameSpot. We already knew 24 might return for another season without lead character Jack Bauer, but we've now learned it might also do away with every existing character in the series.Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman revealed the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he reiterated that the potential lack of Keifer Sutherland's Jack Bauer wasn't due to a lack of trying."Obviously we would love to have Kiefer and we went to him first," Newman said. "It isn't something he wants to do at this point, but he encouraged us to continue and look for a way to bring the show back."

I smell this isn't going to work unless you have Jack Bauer or someone that can do a good a job as Kiefer did!! :)

Fox's 24 Spinoff News: Cameos Only For Kiefer Sutherland http://www.denofgeek.us/tv/24/246148/foxs-24-spinoff-news-cameos-only-for-kiefer-sutherland
Jack Bauer will only return for a cameo. Kiefer Sutherland sounds about done with 24...Editor's note: This article is our news hub for a potential 24 spinoff. We'll update the top with the latest news and file older news to the rest of the article.Talk of a 24 spinoff has been circling for months ever since Bauer saved the President in 24: Live Another Day, the summer “event series” that saw the return of our favorite terrorist-thwarting rouge. Tired of outrunning drones, it seemed as though Jack Bauer is ready for a break. Now Kiefer Sutherland is confirming that if 24 does return for another run, Jack Bauer will mostly be absent. Speaking with Deadline, the actor said he's not coming back to do 24 because there are other things he wants to do."I’ve always felt, from Season 1 on, that 24 is such a great idea that this can go on forever," Sutherland said. "I think if you create a new cast or other characters in the telling of this story, it will bring a freshness. And let’s face it there’s only so many bad days one can have before the show becomes a mad comic. And what I don’t want it to be is a mad comic… it doesn’t rule out to one having a cameo.”

Dominic Purcell on who to thank for 'Prison Break' 2.0 https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/dominic-purcell-thank-prison-break-2-0-071420293.html
Dominic Purcell says if you want to thank someone for the idea to reboot Fox's "Prison Break," that would be Wentworth Miller."'Prison Break' wouldn't happen if Wentworth didn't want to do it," Purcell told The Associated Press Monday at a CBS party for the TV Critics Association.Purcell and Miller played brothers on the popular Fox show. Their story began with Miller's character getting purposely sent to prison with an elaborate plan to break out his brother, who was on death row. "Prison Break" aired for four seasons from 2005-2009.Last week, Fox announced it would bring the show back in 2016 for a 10-episode event series.
