Half the fun is trying the (free) channels and see what each has. I think by asking if there is this or that you are missing some great stuff by not just browsing around.

Yep I agree.Still room for discussion though.;)

justin.tv even though the quality isn't so good has tons of channels.Be careful though I actually saw some porn on there.

Ok,got Plex media server installed on the pc.Scanned movie, picture, and music folders.Tuned in the Plex channel on the roku,it streams 720p great. You can adjust the stream settings via the roku remote, set it for 4Mbps 720p and Jurassic Park looks awesome!Music files and pictures also work great. It's a free app so if you have no other way to stream your files Plex is definitely worth a try.

Ugh! Playon.tv requires a PC. We only have Macs in our house. :(

Are there any other channels that provide cable network programming?

Been going through Sons of Anarchy on Amazon Streaming. all of season 1 is there and they seem to have a bunch of fx stuff for prime people. Perfect since the great shows I've heard about on Fx were to be those I try to catch some day.

Currently there are 5,045 Movies and TV that are eligible for Amazon Prime members to get as part of membership (along with free 2 day shipping..etc..). For example, seasons 1 through 4 of Sons of Anarchy are available.

Below you can see a screen shot of all the TV networks that have stuff on Amazon Prime. It's not brand new, but it's not ancient either. CBS has the most, then Fox, ABC, FX, and at the tail, NBC with basically my name is earl, and Alf.

Roku helped me to eliminate my monthly cable bill for good. For a great list of 2012 working private Roku channels, Google mkvXstream. Be sure to check out their guide on how to get USTVNow Free network channels enabled to view inside the US. They block USA viewers from registering and viewing their content inside the US. By registering with a proxy server you will then get full live streaming to ABC, NBC, FOX and PBS on your Roku. :):D

:welcome

Excellent, informative first post!!!

Thanks!

Tried to follow the info, but got no where. Do you need a proxy server or is the miniprox a proxy server? I've got Foxyproxy installed in FF but haven't figured out how it works.

All I did was use an ip blocker to get registered. They may turn me off but,for now anyway it works.

You don't need to do anything once registered. The IP check is only at that time, not when you sign in. I can't imagine they did that on purpose. :)
